Fish marketing system

Cauvery river system is one of the major freshwater aquatic systems in Peninsular India with a number of tributaries and reservoirs on it. The system inhabits a variety of endemic fish species. Thippagondanahalli Reservoir (TR) is a medium reservoir on Arkavathy River, a tributary of River Cauvery. This report is on the first record of dwarf gourami, Trichogaster lalius belonging to the family, Osphronemidae, from the TR. The reservoir is located in Bengaluru South Taluk, Karnataka [13⁰ 02’41”N 77⁰ 36’24”E; Area at FRL (Full Reservoir level): 1162.0 ha].

The study was conducted at fish markets in Himmatnagar, Sabarkantaha, and attempts study present marketing system, marketing activity and economic features. This paper to identify market facilities, present market status, nature of cost and the factor influence the market system. In Himmatnagar nearly all fish traded within move through the privet sector, a large number of people are give and take fish distribution and marketing system. The main source of fishes in Himmatnagar fish market is Dharoi dam, lake, small rivers and reservoir which supply various verities of fishes.

Destinations in authentic (often Third World) countries are often off the beaten track. Tourists enjoy authentic experiences in places which have experienced limited tourism development. Emerging destinations in Asia, South America and Africa attract a small number of adventurous tourists who are prepared to forego their comfort in order to interact with local communities and unspoiled surroundings.
