  • For each selected value of pyrolysis temperature, three levels of residence time for pyrolysis process were set as 0, 60 and 120 minutes, respectively. Some properties of the final product from the pyrolysis process i.e volatile, ash content, fixed-carbon and higher heating value (HHV) were measured. The experimental results have shown that in the current range of experimental work, charcoal products could get the highest fixed-carbon content at the pyrolysis temperature of 6000C and with the residence time of 120 minutes.

  • The study reveals that the use of energy for economic development is ineffective and inconsistent with the overview of sustainable development due to the result of increasing CIWB. However, the sign of negative coefficients of GDP and FDI per capita in control variables have given the striking findings that these factors will be helpful for lower middle - income countries to pursue sustainable development by reducing CIWB.

  • Three pectinolytic microbial consortia developed for faster retting of jute (Chorchorus olitorius L. and Chorchorus capsularis L.) were subjected to various pH (4 to 12) and media with variable nitrogen and fixed carbon sources for optimization of fermentation conditions of the consortia for cost-effective pectin degrading enzyme production. All the microbial consortia were active over a wide range of pH from 6 to 10 and recorded maximum polygalacturonase and pectin lyase activities at pH 10.

  • This paper presents a static analysis and parameter optimization for the xed-guided beam exures via using the pseudo-rigid-body model and a fmincon algorithm. The Finite Element Method (FEM) of the xed-guided beam also has been used to verify the maximum stress and the x−direction displacement. Modi ed pseudorigid-body model (M-PRBM) is also applied to signi cantly enhance the accuracy of the maximum stress value. The results show that the averaged errors of maximum stress between MPRBM and FEM are 3.48% for aluminum, and less than 10.9% for titanium, carbon steel, and alloy steel.

  • Plant releases volatile chemicals compounds in air through which plant interacts to both biotic and abiotic communities these are called plant volatiles. Nearly one-fifth of the carbon fixed by plant every day is released as volatiles. Majority of plant volatiles are derived from: terpenoids, fatty acid catabolites, aromatics, amino-acid derived products and alcohols. Plant volatiles serve various functions in plants ranging from signal transduction to plant defense.

  • Particle size is important parameter affecting the composition, quality and final applications of the producer gas. Fine grained or fluffy feed stock may cause flow problems in the gasifier as well as an inadmissible pressure drop over the reduction zone and a high proportion of dust in the gas. To avoid such problems briquetted material considered for gasification. The developed gasifier was tested with different sizes of briquettes of 15, 30 and 45 mm width and 90 mm diameter. The volatile matter, fixed carbon and ash content of briquette were found as 71.87%, 17.07% and 4.
