  • In this study, in order to investigate the error rate of seismic analysis methods (static equivalent, spectral and time history) in intermediate structures with irregularity of hardness, 4 5-story steel samples with dual flexural frame system and bracing with different states of irregularity in height in soft SAP software has been modeled. The results showed that the equivalent static analysis method always provides conservative and somewhat uneconomical values compared to other methods, so it can be said that for static buildings, equivalent static analysis is reliable.

  • In this study, the effect of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) content, i.e. from 2 to 6% by vol. of concrete, on the flexural behavior of ECC with a desired compressive strength of over 60 MPa, in which fly ash and silica fume were selected as supplementary cementitious materials. The experimental results show that the addition of PVA fiber gives little influence on compressive strength but can significantly affect the flexural behavior of ECC.

  • This paper presents an experimental study on the effect of prestressing force on the flexural behavior of unbonded prestressed concrete (UPC) strengthened by Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets. The testing program was carried out on nine large-scale UPC rectangular beams. The investigated parameters included the reduction of prestressing force (0%, 15%, and 30%) and the number of CFRP layers (0, 2, and 4 layers).

  • Samples were molded under a hot press and for each sample 50 test samples obtained by cutting them with a water jet. The obtained samples were characterized by TG, FTIR, and SEM. The effect of water absorption was evaluated by measuring percentage water absorption and flexural strength of samples over 9 months. The results revealed that filler addition lowers the damage created by distilled water a considerable amount and addition of hydrophobic fillers to epoxy matrix composites can be especially beneficial for applications where long-term water exposure is desired.

  • The numerical results show a good correlation with the experimental results of the beam specimens, such as load-displacement curves, crack patterns, and failure modes. They allow confirming the capability of the developed FE model to predict the flexural performance of strengthened beams considering CFRP/concrete interfacial behavior.

  • This paper presentsa3D finite element modeling of the flexural behaviorof ultrahigh-performanceconcrete (UHPC).A four-point flexural teston a UHPCprestressed T girder is considered. The flexuralstrength and cracks pattern of girder are addressed. UHPC material is supposed to be homogeneous andisotropic material. It follows a nonlinear fracture model. The results are comparedwith experimentally captured measurementsand qualitatively discussed.

  • This study shows that the stirrups corrosion should receive more attention in the serviceability limit state due to its considerable effect on flexural behavior. Based on a parametric study, it shows that the effect of the crosssection loss of tension reinforcements on the load-carrying capacity of the corroded beam is more significant than the bond strength reduction.

  • The study of the mechanical behavior of sand concrete mixed with polypropylene (PP) fibers shows that with the incorporation of (PP) fibers into the cementitious matrix, there is some improvement in the ductile behavior of the composite. In our study we tested the composite with different dosages of polypropylene (0.05%, 0.1%, 0.3% and 0.5%).

  • The application of prestressing steel is restricted in highly corrosive environment area due to corrosion of prestressing steel, which leads to reduction in strength and it may cause sudden failure. Carbon textile is considered as an alternate material due to its corrosive resistance property, high tensile strength and perfectly elastic. In this study, an experimental investigation was carried out to study the flexural behavior of prestressed and non-prestressed carbon textile reinforced concrete plates.

  • Mechanical property of cement mortar is closely related to polymer modifier type. Four kinds of polymer latex including Chloroprene Rubber (CR), Styrene Butadiene (SBR), Styrene Acrylic (SA) and Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) were selected to prepare the modified cement mortar in this study. Mechanical behavior of modified cement mortar was evaluated by flexural strength, Compressive Strength and Tensile Strength, respectively. The micro-morphology of modified cement mortar was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), which was useful to analyze the modification mechanism.

  • Today, the advancement of technology and the achievement of increasing innovations in the field of building materials have increased high-strength concrete (HSC) production. The use of this material has been increased due to economic and technical reasons in the construction of concrete sections. However, the more compressive strength of the concrete is, the more concrete becomes brittle and its tensile strength does not increase with increasing compressive strength. HSC is also more vulnerable to high temperatures due to its high density and low porosity compared to conventional concrete.
