Forecasting the water quality

To Lich River is well-known as a main drainage river and plays a vital role to the landscape distribution of Ha Noi city, which is currently polluted due to improperly untreated wastewater flow. Thanks to QUAL2K model, the variation of the river water quality has been forecasted by 4 particular scenarios. In the first scenario, the whole generated wastewater along To Lich River is not totally collected and treated. Scenario 2 is similar to scenario 1 except that To Lich River receives an addition of diluted water of 5 m 3 /s from Red River.

The study results showed that the water quality of Dong Nai river is currently achieved to the standard requirement and the using purposes. However, there were some sections where had locally polluted signs and had not be used (such as Dong Nai river in the section 3).

The DSS will enable examination of existing conditions, forecasting of future conditions, and simulation of alternatives that will be ecologically sustaining and socially desired. The DSS will address watershed, water quality, water quantity, groundwater and ecosystem restoration needs at the small watershed, major watershed, tributary river, and main stem Minnesota River reach levels of spatial scale. The DSS will enable forecasting future conditions.
