The reading comprehension skill is considered as one of the four fundamental language skills that an EFL learner must perform. Actually, it is not an easy skill since most of learners have many reading issues. The purpose of this present work is to investigate on these reading difficulties that grade 10 students at the Asian International Highschool face, and to identify their reading problems and the reasons behind their weaknesses in performing the reading task.

The research covered quite a bit of territory with the simple objective - to 'break free' of the 'risk' of continuing architectural patterns in practice through and beyond mid career. On reflection I identified four stages within the history of my practice covering three disciplines; art, architecture and the political economies relation with urban geography. I was hoping to tie these together in a more coherent way and write reflectively to deepen those relations.

The purpose of the encapsulation of the research objectives into four stand-alone pieces was to enable specific aspects of the findings to be more readily accessed by future researchers and members of the teaching profession. Each piece corresponds to a research objective and reflects a research question. The research questions were formulated to tackle aspects of the research problem. The research outcomes could contribute to the growing body of knowledge about music activities delivered by classroom teachers.

This study investigated the sublethal effects of salinity on four macroinvertebrate species commonly occurring in Australian freshwater ecosystems. These were; the introduced worm Lumbriculus variegatus Müller (Annelida: Oligochaeta), the introduced snail Physa acuta Draparnaud (Gastropoda: Physidae), the shrimp Paratya australiensis Kemp (Decapoda: Atyidae) and the midge Chironomus tepperi Skuse (Diptera: Chironomidae). The effects of salinity on growth, development and reproduction of these species were investigated through a series of laboratory tests.

This study examined the current situation of the Serbian Orthodox Church both in its Australian and transnational contexts since the Serbian Orthodox Church functions as transnational network with churches linked globally. The research strategy was a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. This included a case study approach which focused in four parishes in Australia, including interviews which involved forty six participants affiliated to Serbian Orthodoxy and four Serbian Orthodox priests who were individually interviewed.

The question sustained throughout the project, and developed into four key principal research aims or foci, framing my research approach and helping to define the field covered. These concerned: abstracting musical basslines into an environmental domain; articulating building materials through vibration; composing for a tactile sensation bodily experience; understanding the dialogue between hearing and sensation, and how felt and audible aspects affect awareness and perception of each other.

This thesis examines the capital structure choice of Australian firms with an emphasis on the impact of market timing and liquidity considering 1438 available firms for the period, 1997 to 2005. The relationship between capital structure and its determinants is the main focus of this thesis, with four empirical analyses. These analyses are all conducted within the Baker and Wurgler (2002) and Hovakimian (2006) models with both pooled ordinary least squares (OLS) and fixed effect panel analysis.

This thesis examines both organisational and consumer perspectives on the BOP market in Sri Lanka using a sequential mixed-method approach aligned under four phases of studies. The findings of the qualitative studies on organisational perspective confirm the market opportunities for large companies, particularly in the rural BOP market, but also find that the focus of alleviating poverty is lacking among practitioners.

The initial objective of this project was to improve Boards of Education in Indonesia, especially in terms of their selection, recruitment, performance and contribution to educational development. However, after doing preliminary study and field visits, I realized that the initial objective was far too ambitious. It quickly became evident that there was considerable confusion about District Boards of Education and a lack of basic information about how they should contribute to educational decision making.
