  • Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) have been used as an anticancer drug delivery system with high safety and entrapment capacity thanks to their large internal space for drug accommodation, durable structure, and good biocompatibility. However, the treatment efficiency of the bare MSNs is limited due to its drug leakage and burst release. In this study, a phospholipid bilayer was covered on the MSNs surface (MSN@Lip) as a liposomal cap that not only reduced drug leakage but also improved the stability of the colloidal system.

  • Nano-hydroxyapatite/starch composite was synthesized using in situ precipitation. Starch concentration effect on the structure of composite was examined. Characterization of the obtained samples, The X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy demonstrated the purity of the formed nano-HA in the starch matrix.   • The 3D printing PMMA/ZrO2 filaments with a diameter of 1.75±0.05 mm were fabricated by using a single-screw extruder at temperatures of four heating zones of 190, 200, 210, and 210°C.   • In the present study, a complex between 8-hydroxyquinoline and cerium (III) (CeHQ) was synthesized in the presence of triethylamine. Afterwards, the complex was characterized by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). The inhibition efficiency of the Ce-HQ complex for the corrosion of carbon steel, evaluated by both Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Potentiodynamic Polarization (PP) plots, reached 90 % after 2 h of immersion in a 0.01 M NaCl solution.

  • Petrified wood samples are found within terrestrial sediments belonging to the Late Oligocene-Early Miocene Danişmen Formation in Malkara-Keşan located in the southwest of the Thrace Basin. The petrified wood in both regions is usually silicified and partly coalified. The silicification of the Tertiary wood in the Malkara-Keşan region is associated with volcanic activity and coeval sedimentation. Thin sections from petrified wood samples were taken as transverse, tangential, and radial sections.

  • The experimental results show that the highest photocatalytic activity was obtained from the Ag (5) doped Zn-0.75Al-0.25La-CO3 photocatalysts calcined at 500 0C with a degradation efficiency of 99,4 after 40 min of irradiation only. This study could provide a new route for the fabrication of high performance photocatalysts and facilitate their application in the environmental remediation issues.
