Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) and surgery have been recommended as the standard treatments for locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). In addition, nodal metastases decreased in frequency and changed in distribution after neoadjuvant therapy. This study aimed to examine the optimal strategy for lymph node dissection (LND) in patients with ESCC who underwent nCRT.

Research on biomass and carbon stocks is very meaningful for managing and minimizing negative effects of climate change and global warming on people's lives. The study collected and analyzed data from plots for Acacia hybrid forests at two different age levels: 2 years and 6 years old in Ham Yen, Tuyen Quang. The analytical results showed that density at age 6 was lower than age 2. The diameter and height frequency distributions were well simulated by Weibull distribution.

Many carcinomas have recurrent chromosomal aneuploidies specific to the tissue of tumor origin. The reason for this specificity is not completely understood. Methods: In this study, we looked at the frequency of chromosomal arm gains and losses in different cancer types from the The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and compared them to the mean gene expression of each chromosome arm in corresponding normal tissues of origin from the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) database, in addition to the distribution of tissue-specific oncogenes and tumor suppressors on different chromosome arms.

Demography and environmental adaptation can affect the global distribution of genetic variants and possibly the distribution of disease. Population heterozygosity of single nucleotide polymorphisms has been shown to decrease strongly with distance from Africa and this has been attributed to the effect of serial founding events during the migration of humans out of Africa.

There are large individual differences in physical activity (PA) behavior as well as trainability of physical capacity. Heritability studies have shown that genes may have as much impact on exercise participation behavior as environmental factors.

Tree stump diameter plays a big role in forest resource management. The study used data from 23 plots. The results showed that the acacia community was classified into 2 clusters. The stump diameter mean of cluster 1 is larger than cluster 2. The stump diameter frequency distribution of cluster 1 was more right-skewed.

The significant negative neutrality test values are the evidence of expansion of the total population. H. sieboldiana and H. kiyosumiensis are more widely distributed than other taxa. H. sieboldiana, H. alismifolia, H. longipes var. gracillima and H. kikutii var. polyneuron showed the excessive low frequency variants.

This study presents a Finite Element (FE) model updating methodology of a piping system and demonstrates vibration attenuation at its resonant frequencies using tuned local resonators distributed along its length. An experimental laboratory scaled version of a prototype piping system inspired from existing piping structures in the oil and gas industry is assembled to study its dynamic behavior under laboratory conditions.

This study evaluates the microbial contamination rate to find the frequency and distribution of bacterial organisms among CB samplings in Vietnam. In addition, this study compares the contamination rates between two delivery methods: cesarean section and vaginal delivery. The results help create best practices to avoid a high level of contamination of CB during cord blood banking.

On the basis of the data source of the 10 m wind field above the sea with the hourly frequency and during the period of 41 years (1979–2019) by the NCEP CFRS, we used the probability distribution functions to study the distribution law of wind speed in the waters of Ly Son island. Specifically, four distribution functions (normal distribution, gamma distribution, Weibull distribution and extreme value distribution) were used to estimate the characteristic parameters of the shape and proportion of the wind distribution in the waters of Ly Son island.

The purpose of the study is to find the effects of different growing site conditions on trees with the vessel features in the woods of Quercus ilex L. growing in different regions through Turkey, and to evaluate the results in respect of forestry. A total of 102 wood samples were collected from 102 sampling plots (as 20 m × 10 m plots) in 9 distribution areas in Turkey. Environmental, climate and stand data were obtained for each plot. Standard wood anatomical studies were performed.

Fractionation is the genome-wide process of losing one gene per duplicate pair following whole genome multiplication (doubling, tripling, ...). This is important in the evolution of plants over tens of millions of years, because of their repeated cycles of genome multiplication and fractionation. One type of evidence in the study of these processes is the frequency distribution of similarities between the two genes, over all the duplicate pairs in the genome.

In addition, the displacement field of THSDT needs the high continuity in approximated formulation with high-order derivatives for a weak form of fourth order equation. According to IGA formulation based on the generalized THSDT, the shear locking phenomenon is free. The variables of THSDT are less than HSDTs which contain five DOFs per node. The influences of weight fractions, the coefficient porosity, dispersion patterns of GPLs and distribution types of porosity on structure’s natural frequencies are studied through some numerical examples.

The quasi-3D shear deformation theory, which takes the thickness stretching effect into account, is adopted to formulate a finite element formulation for computing vibration characteristics. The accuracy of the derived formulation is confirmed through a comparison study. The numerical result reveals that the foundation supporting area plays an important role on the vibration behavior of the plates, and the effect of the layer thickness ratio on the frequencies is governed by the supporting area.
