  • 2,6-Pyridinedicarboxylic acid (H2 dipic) reacts with copper-exchanged zeolite NaY to form [Cu(dipic)(H2 O) 2 ] n , which is encapsulated in the pores of the zeolite. In this zeolite-encapsulated form, the copper derivative functions as an efficient catalyst for the oxidation of cyclohexene, toluene, cyclohexane, and ethyl benzene in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (as an oxidant). The catalyst was readily recovered from the reaction mixture, and it could be reused for an additional three runs without perceptible loss of activity.

  • Samples were molded under a hot press and for each sample 50 test samples obtained by cutting them with a water jet. The obtained samples were characterized by TG, FTIR, and SEM. The effect of water absorption was evaluated by measuring percentage water absorption and flexural strength of samples over 9 months. The results revealed that filler addition lowers the damage created by distilled water a considerable amount and addition of hydrophobic fillers to epoxy matrix composites can be especially beneficial for applications where long-term water exposure is desired.

  • Puerarin-coated gold nanoparticles (PUE-AuNPs) synthesized via green synthetic route, a new colorimetric sensor, efficiently detected the ciprofloxacin (CP) in tap water and cow milk samples. The PUE-AuNPs were characterized by UV-visible, FTIR, AFM, and DLS techniques and were found to be spherical with an average size of approximately 19–20 nm. FTIR spectrum confirms that functional groups such as –OH, -C=O, -CO and –C=C were responsible for the reduction of gold (III) chloride trihydrate. These functional groups acted as capping agents to form AuNPs.

  • The results of the Ca/P molar ratio from 1.839 to 1.847 prove that the nano-HAp powders are B-type biological hydroxyapatites, which has been confirmed by FTIR spectrum. In addition, the content of heavy metals such as As, Pb, Hg, Cd is detected within safety limits. These properties allow nano-HAp powders to be applied in food and medicine fields.

  • Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy of humic substances shows major components through different peaks. FTIR spectrum of humic acid (HA) showed bands at 3246 cm-1 (H-bonded OH), 1721 cm-1 (C=O of COOH, C=O stretch of ketonic C=O), 1634 cm-1 (COO-, C=O of carbonyl and quinone) and 1102 cm-1 (C-O stretch or OH deformation of COOH). Whereas, fulvic acid (FA) showed peaks at 3497cm-1 (H bonded OH), 2925- 2855cm-1 (aliphatic C-H stretch), 2415 cm-1 (extended aliphatic C-H stretch), 1648cm-1 (COO-, C=O of carbonyl and quinone), 1158 cm-1 (aliphatic C-H).

  • In this research, the new fluorescent conjugated polymers based on 10-(Perylene-3-yl-10HPhenoxazine (PyP) and 9,9-dioctyl-9h-fluorene (PF) have been synthesized via direct arylation polymerization using Pd(OAc)2, PivOH and PCy3.HBF4 as catalyst system. The monomer based on phenothiazine has been synthesized via C-N coupling to obtain the 4-(10H-phenothiazine-10-yl)- N,N-diphenylaniline (PyP). The synthesized novel conjugated polymers based on PyP and PF have been characterized via 1 H NMR, GPC, FTIR, DSC, XRD, PL, and UV-Vis spectrum.

  • The present work focused on the synthesis of b-chitosan submicron particles (CSPs) from Todarodes pacificus using mechanochemical techniques. The gladius was submitted to a sequence of mechanical and chemical treatments to synthesize b-chitin (CT), which was further deacetylated to form spherical chitosan submicron particles with an average diameter of 6100 nm. The surface morphology of b-chitin and CSPs was observed using electron microscopy. The degree of deacetylation (DD%), evaluated from the absorbance peak of a Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrum, was 80 ± 2.5%.

  • Herein a simple algorithm for the mathematical transformation of FTIR spectrum was developed, evaluated, and applied for description of different systems. Water, ethanol, n-butanol, n-hexanol, formic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, and water-acetic acid mixtures at different concentrations were used as model systems. We found that functional transformation of FTIR spectrum can be performed by functionallyenhanced derivative spectroscopy approach using the Function P, which is defined as P = (1 + aj)(s) 0.5 where aj and s are the absorbance and the scale factor, respectively.

  • The effect of the coordination of a Ni(II) ion on the electronic and magnetic properties of the ligand salophen were experimentally and theoretically evaluated. The complex [Ni(salophen)] was synthesized and characterized through FTIR and an elemental analysis. Spectral data obtained using DMSO as a solvent showed that the ligand absorption profile was significantly disturbed after the coordination of the metal atom.
