In this paper, we build an incremental algorithm to find the approximate reduct according to the combined filter-wrapper approach. Experimental results on a number of sample datasets show that the proposed incremental algorithm is more efficient than some other incremental algorithms following the filter approach in terms of the number of reductive set attributes and classification accuracy.

In this study, Sentinel–1A satellite imagery is used to extract the coastline in Phan Thiet City. The boundary between land and water is determined by a two–step process: fuzzy clustering and interactive thresholding. Subsequently, the coastline in the study area was extracted into vector form. Finally, this shoreline is compared to manually digitized shoreline. There are 350 locations considered to determine the distance between two shorelines, of which 274 locations (77%) are 0 to 5 m (equivalent to ½ pixel) and 76 (23%) locations are over 5 m.

In this paper, we propose a fuzzy distance based attribute reduction method on the decision table with numerical attribute value domain. In this paper, we propose the predictor of the Emergency Braking System (EBS), which adapts to driver’s intentions. For design of such system, we mainly made fuzzy predictor and fuzzy Driver Intention Reader (DIR), using fuzzy algorithm. And, we simulated several typical situations to evaluate the system performance. As a result, we have confirmed the functionality and reliability of the system logics.

This study develops an inventory model to determine ordering policy for deteriorating items with constant demand rate under inflationary condition over a fixed planning horizon. Shortages are allowed and are partially backlogged. In today’s wobbling economy, especially for long term investment, the effects of inflation cannot be disregarded as uncertainty about future inflation may influence the ordering policy.

To cluster textual sequence types (discourse types/modes) in French texts, K-means algorithm with high-dimensional embeddings and fuzzy clustering algorithm were applied on clauses whose POS (part-ofspeech) n-gram profiles were previously extracted. Uni-, bi- and trigrams were used on four 19th century French short stories by Maupassant. For high-dimensional embeddings, power transformations on the chisquared distances between clauses were explored.

Coreferencing entities across documents in a large corpus enables advanced document understanding tasks such as question answering. This paper presents a novel cross document coreference approach that leverages the profiles of entities which are constructed by using information extraction tools and reconciled by using a within-document coreference module. We propose to match the profiles by using a learned ensemble distance function comprised of a suite of similarity specialists.
