Gathering network

For the seventh time in the ten years the working group has existed people from different parts of the world gathered to discuss issues related to the Transfer and Diffusion of Information Technology. The theme of the 10th anniversary IFIP 8.6 working group event was “The Diffusion and Adoption of Networked Information Technologies”. Once again researchers and practitioners met and discussed if and how we can understand and model diffusion and adoption of technological innovations. The conference attracted 23 submissions.

Molecular dynamic simulation is carried out for sodium tetra-silicate \({\rm{(N}}{{\rm{a}}_{\rm{2}}}{\rm{O - 4Si}}{{\rm{O}}_{\rm{2}}}{\rm{)}}\) melt at 1873K and pressure of 0.1MPa. The diffusion mechanism of Na atoms is investigated in terms of Voronoi polyhedron around network former and displacement of Na atoms between them. The simulation shows that Na atoms are not uniformly distributed through polyhedrons, but they mainly gather in NBO and FO polyhedrons.

The wireless capability on micro:bit provides a complete solution to deploy the system in such places that wire is impractical to draw. In this study, a database including 159 experimental beam results gathered from the available literature was used for the development of an artificial neural network (ANN) model in an effort to predict the bond strength between GFRP bars and concrete. Two ANN models using BFGS quasi-Newton backpropagation and conjugate gradient backpropagation with Polak-Ribiére algorithms were constructed and evaluated in terms of bond strength prediction accuracy.

Using the context of global health, this study seeks to examine the ways in which MIM platforms are being used for learning and knowledge sharing and identify associated potentials and constraints.
