Phenotypic changes during cancer progression are associated with alterations in gene expression, which can be exploited to build molecular signatures for tumor stage identification and prognosis. However, it is not yet known whether the relative abundance of transcript isoforms may be informative for clinical stage and survival.

Genomic locations are represented as coordinates on a specific genome build version, but the build information is frequently missing when coordinates are provided. We show that this information is essential to correctly interpret and analyse the genomic intervals contained in genomic track files. Although not a substitute for best practices, we also provide a tool to predict the genome build version of genomic track files.

Traditional differential expression tools are limited to detecting changes in overall expression, and fail to uncover the rich information provided by single-cell level data sets. We present a Bayesian hierarchical model that builds upon BASiCS to study changes that lie beyond comparisons of means, incorporating built-in normalization and quantifying technical artifacts by borrowing information from spike-in genes.

High-throughput technology allows for genome-wide measurements at different molecular levels for the same patient, e.g. single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and gene expression. Correspondingly, it might be beneficial to also integrate complementary information from different molecular levels when building multivariable risk prediction models for a clinical endpoint, such as treatment response or survival.

As a conse- quence, the bank’s members pool together not only the information items they have collected but also their organization schemes applied on those items. This requires that people can safely reach services without travelling for a long time or distance, and that those with disabilities can easily access buildings. The data collected and analyzed helps to inform dental public health policy and programming. It also provides a baseline for noting any improvements that may occur as a result of new oral health promotion and disease prevention initiatives with the goal of achieving better outcomes. One of the reasons oral health was included as a component of the CHMS was to enable future evaluation of the association of oral health with major health concerns such as diabetes, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.
