An experiment was conducted to study the storage behavior among thirty onion genotypes under ambient condition for four months. The experiment results revealed that after four months of storage, the minimum per cent of sprouting was noticed in Bhima Shakti (7.68 %), while, the maximum per cent of sprouting was noticed in N-53 (15.10 %).

Identification of stable performing genotypes in the changing environmental scenario is of prime importance in any breeding material of the present days. Eleven genotypes of Groundnut were evaluated for its stable performance over different dated of sowing at Main Agicultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka. The genotypes were evaluated in randomized block design with three replications. Substantial variation in mean performance of genotypes over different dates of sowing was observed.

The study revealed that, maximum number of shoots (12.44, 16.40, and 19.57) and more shoot length (29.85, 76.87, 109.32 cm) was observed in Tr-10 variety on 15, 30th and 45 days after pruning. Further, the data on maximum number of leaves (9.20, 15.89, 21.99) was recorded in S-34 variety whereas the internodal distance (5.67, 7.69 8.08 cm) and leaf area (58.32, 175.12 and 224.04 cm2 ) was recorded in Tr-10.

Oriental pickling melon (Cucumis melo var. conomon) is one of the melon group vegetables of the Cucurbitaceae, with high potential as commercial short duration vegetable in South India. Twenty five RAPD primers were used which generated a total of 182 bands, out of which 107 bands were polymorphic (58%) revealing a substantial amount of genetic diversity within this species. Similarity values among all the accessions ranged from 0.948 to 0.619.

The present investigation was undertaken to estimate the genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance for growth and yield parameters among 30 genotypes of sweet potato [Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.] in a randomized block design with two replications during rabi 2017-18 at College of Horticulture, Mudigere, Karnataka. Analysis of variance revealed highly significant difference among the genotypes was observed for all the growth and yield parameters.

A field investigation was carried out with thirty genotypes of cucumber to evaluate the performance of the genotypes for growth and yield characters under hill zone of Karnataka. The genotype Sirsi Local-2 exhibited superiority for vine length, number of primary branches per plant, days to first harvest of the fruit, per cent marketable fruits per vine and chlorophyll content. Minimum number of node to appear first female flower, highest number of fruits per vine (13.90) and maximum yield per vine were found in the cultivar Poinsette.
