Phylogenetic analysis is now an important tool in the study of viral outbreaks. It can reconstruct epidemic history when surveillance epidemiology data are sparse, and can indicate transmission linkages among infections that may not otherwise be evident.

Bacterial bloodstream infections are important causes of morbidity and mortality globally. The aim of present study was to determine the bacterial profile of bloodstream infections and their antibiotic susceptibility pattern among the clinically diagnosed cases of sepsis in cancer patients. In the present study, etiological and antimicrobial susceptibility profile of blood cultures over a period of 1 year at a tertiary cancer care hospital was done. Blood culture positive isolates were identified using standard microbiological methods and by Manual method.

Agent-based models (ABM) are becoming standard tools to study complex systems especially in ecology and more recently in epidemiology. The developments of models in these domains have highlighted the need for more complex representations of the environment. In this paper, we present an individual-based epidemiological model that has the particularity to make heavy use of geographic data and complex spatial operations.

Similarly, it might be possible that the relation between collateral and the probability of default was different depending on the type of lender. During the time period studied, savings banks have expanded their activities outside their traditional geographic markets and therefore it can be expected that they face a more severe adverse selection problem than banks which have grown mostly within their traditional markets. If this was the case among savings banks, collateral might be used to solve the problem raised by the hidden information situation.
