In the present study, it is clear that it is possible to develop high yielding lines with high quality traits with superior nutritional features. The parameters have indicated sufficient variability for different nutritional characters, so that it would enable the breeder to utilize appropriate genetic resources in the crossing programme to improve the particular character.

Genetic diversity among 30 advanced breeding lines of groundnut were estimated using Mahalanobis D2 statistic for 21 characters. The analysis of variance revealed significant differences among the advanced breeding lines for all characters. Based on Tocher's method, 30 advanced breeding lines were grouped into ten clusters.

Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a cultivated annually belonging to the plant family Leguminosae and sub family Papillionaceae. In groundnut several soil borne disease is occurred. Among them dry root rot is major which caused by Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid has been having worldwide importance devastating disease causes severe losses in yield. Invitro, the effectively colony growth of fungus M. phaseolina was inhibited through different bioagent.

This study reports the analyses of the rhizospheric microbiome of the groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) from Gujarat, India. Samples were collected using standard protocols and 16S rRNA gene V3–V4 region amplicon sequencing was performed to identify the microbial communities prevalent in the rhizosphere.

The study was conducted at the Education and Research Farm of the Department of Botany, College of Agriculture, Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra state during the kharif and rabi2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, to study the “Effect of seasons and plant spacings on quality parameters of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) genotypes”. The experiment was laid out in split plot design replicated three times. The main plot treatment consists of two seasons (kharif and rabi); however, sub plot treatments consist of eleven groundnut genotypes.

In India, the productivity of various crops is unstable mainly due to climatic factors, price volatility and resource availability. The pre-harvest forecasting of the crop productivity is a major priority to know about the market demand of the crops. The present study focused the ability of pre-harvest forecasting performance of stepwise regression method and the ARIMA method. In stepwise regression method, two approaches were developed namely (1) using week-wise original weather variable and (2) weather indices using correlation coefficient as weight.

At the same time, the breeding lines from the advanced generations are also used as parental lines for developing commercially exploitable heterotic hybrids. But, most often the source of early generations i.e., F3, F4, F5 and F6 segregating populations offer wider opportunities for achieving high success, because of wider genetic base.

A laboratory experiment was carried out to evaluate 26 groundnut genotypes for salt tolerance as well as to assess physiological basis for salt tolerance. Twenty seeds of each genotype were allowed to germinate for 72 hours at 28±1oC and then transferred to plastic beakers containing neutral sand. 7 days old seedlings were then subjected to different treatments viz. Control (plants receiving Hoagland nutrient solution adjusted to pH 6.3) and Salinity treatment (plants receiving Hoagland nutrient solution plus 200 mM NaCl adjusted to pH 6.3).
