Firstly, the researcher provides an insightful introduction into the phenomenon focused on to explicate the learners’ views about the role of school counselors in line with career selection. To attain the study objectives, the researcher used a multi-unit case study to investigate the perceptions among high-school students about school counselors’ roles and career selection.

In this research and development study, the designed handbooks consisted of book 1 Guidance and Counseling Implementation Plan, Book 2 Service Materials, Book 3 Teachers’ Guideline, and Book 4 Evaluation Guideline. The effectiveness of the handbooks was examined using a quasi-experimental method with one group pre-test and posttest.

This study aimed to find the Classical Test Theory (CTT) and Modern Test Theory (MTT) item parameters of the Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) and examined their comparability of them. The item parameters being studied are difficulty level and discrimination index. 5.024 data of the result sub-test DAT were documented by the Department of Psychology and Guidance and Counselling bureau.

Employing an interpretive research design with post-positivist paradigm, it was conducted in Kebon Agung Sugar Factory, Malang. The research informants were selected using snowballing technique. The informants include farmers and chairmen of farmers groups, plantation staff, company employees, and government agencies. To maintain the continuity and loyalty of sugarcane farmers to the company, the sugar factories provide various facilities, such as credit, inputs, guidance and counseling as well as technological assistance, and market guarantees for the products produced.
