Harvesting biomass

Xem 1-20 trên 42 kết quả Harvesting biomass
  • Harvesting microalgae by centrifugation and filtration is very costly, affecting technical and economical feasibility of downstream processing of algal biomas to bioproducts. Flocculation is a potential technique for recovery of algae biomass. Particularly, flocculation using magnetic nanoparticles offers high separation efficiency due to their high surface area and magnetic properties. I

  • Microalgal harvesting has still been a challenge to investigators who take their investiment into microalgal production. The cost for microalgal downstream processing is as high as 20% of the total production of biodiesel. Among hundreds of curent methods of biomass harvesting, autoflocculation and bacteria-based aggregation are still being researched and applied in large-scale producuion.

  • A field experiment was conducted at the Livestock Farm, JNKVV, Jabalpur during Rabi season 2017 and 2018 to check the bio-efficacy of pendimethalin (38.7% CS) as PPI against complex weed flora in chickpea. Species wise weed data were recorded in weedy check plots revealed that Medicago denticullate (62.08%) and Cichorium intybus (32.85%) were most dominant. However, other monocot weeds like Cyperus rotundus (3.12%), Cynodon dactylon (1.95%) were also present in less numbers in chickpea.

  • Paddy is major crop of India. The grain to straw ratio in paddy crop is 1:1.25 and paddy crop generates huge amount of biomass and it alone contributes 34 % to total biomass production in India. Mostly combines are used for harvesting the paddy crop. The end use of paddy straw is not yet wide spread either on farm or in industrial sector. Thus straw management in combine harvested paddy fields is a major problem in paddy fields. To overcome this problem, it was proposed that paddy straw is first chopped and then incorporated in soil with minimum tillage efforts.

  • Transgressive segregation is a very important phenomena where the segregating individual will possesses the value for a character which is exceeding the better parent. In the present study transgressive segregants were studied in four crosses for SCMR(SPAD Chlorophyll meter reading), SLA (specific leaf area), total biomass per plant, shoot weight per plant, root weight per plant, shelling out-turn per plant, harvest index per plant, pod yield per plant and kernel yield per plant. All the characters under study showed transgressive segregation in all the four crosses.
