The paper aims to investigate the impact of income diversification on commercial banks’ profitability in Vietnam. Using a panel data set of 33 Vietnamese commercial banks during the period from 2006 to 2020, the empirical analysis shows the more diverse in revenue sources, the higher banks’ financial performance.

The paper has examined trends and patterns of crop diversification in selected tahsils of Amravati district. The present study based on secondary data collected from various government publications and pertains to a period of 13 years i.e. from 2003-04 to 2015-16. In order to study the crop diversification Herfindahl index and Entropy index have been used. The diversification from subsistence crop to more commercial crops were took place in selected tahsils of Amravati district. In Dharni tahsil, the most stable crop was Soybean followed by Cotton and Tur.

The aim of this study is not only to explore if portfolio rebalancing can lead to a better performance compared to a buy-and-hold (B&H) strategy but to find out if there is a correlation between the weight-based concentration of the B&H portfolio and the success of a rebalancing strategy. This study extends the existing empirical evidence, which suggests that the degree of bank competition may have a significant effect on both the level of bank rates and on the pass-through of market rates to bank interest rates. Understanding this pass-through mechanism is crucial for central banks. However, most studies that analyse the relationship between competition and banks’ pricing behaviour apply a concentration index such as the Herfindahl-Hirschman index (HHI) as a measure of competition. We question the suitability of such indices as measures to capture competition.
