The study "Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) production by Halomonas boliviensis in fed-batch culture" was undertaken to find strategies for improving the volumetric productivity of PHB by H. boliviensis using glucose as the carbon source. For this, it was considered important to determine the essential nitrogen source for the organism that would allow a better control of the supply of nutrients for optimal PHB production. Eventually, a fed-batch strategy was used to attain both high cell density and a suitable nutrient limitation mode that led to high polymer production.

They have been shown to favor tumor development and a role in chemoresistance has also been suggested. The omental adipose tissue was collected from, the animals undergone ovariohysterectomy surgical procedures. The samples were digested with 0.1 per cent (W/V) collagenase type I and transferred to a beaker with magnetic stirrer at 600 rpm at 37oC for 30 minutes. The lesser time was given for enzymatic digestion as compared to other species. The viability of the cell was evaluated by trypan blue exclusion method using haematocytometer. Trypan blue had a high affinity to nuclear DNA, which traverse the membrane in a dead cell and dye it blue.

Expression of microbial target genes in Escherichia coli is broadly used due to its advantages namely: well established system, easy to manipulate, a huge biomass, high level productivity, safe and inexpensive to grow. Metagenomic technique has been applying in Vietnam recently for effective mining of uncultured gene resources, especially in endemic mini-ecologies such as hot springs where the cell densities are low. DNA metagenome of Binh Chau hot spring was isolated and sequenced by Illumia HiseqTM.
