  • The objective of the study is to assess the impact of FDI on renewable energy use in Vietnam. Research results confirm that FDI projects with low technology and high energy consumption do not have a good impact on the economy in general and the use of renewable energy in particular. The study also confirms that economic growth and the development of financial markets have a very positive impact on renewable energy consumption. Finally, the study also suggests some policy implications for Vietnam in the case of increasing renewable energy use and sustainable development in the future.

  • Emission from vehicles is one of causes of environmental pollution and threat to human health. Magnetic levitation (Maglev) train with high speed, comfort, low energy consumption and low emission is a good solution to this problem. This paper studies Maglev system as a foundation to develop Maglev trains. The paper also presents a sliding mode control (SMC) combining PID (PID-SMC) control for issues of regulation and tracking of a Maglev system with uncertainty.

  • The energy-efficient operation for Ethernet links standardized by IEEE consists of a low-power state and transition mechanisms between the active state with high power consumption and the low-power state. Reviriego et al. Reported 90% power save in state L where there is no traffic. IEEE, however, did not standardize the triggering mechanism on which conditions state L should be reached. As a result, many algorithms have been proposed for better L state usage, like frame transmission and burst transmission algorithm.

  • The present study aims to examine the short-run and long-run impact of China’s trade liberalization policies on its energy demand over the period from 1980 to 2018. The results of Autoregressive Distributed Lag approach of co-integration show that energy consumption significantly increases as a result of trade openness and increase in real Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The results of the granger causality test also confirm the unidirectional causality running from trade openness and real GDP to energy demand.

  • Phosphorus is a major limiting factor for plant growth particularly in the tropics and subtropics areas. It play an important role in many biochemical process viz., energy storage and transfer, cell division, cell enlargement and several other processes in plants. The availability of P to plants is a problem owing to its slow diffusion and high fixation in soils. Due to low solubility and mobility in soil, phosphorus use efficiency is very low ranges from 10-20% in normal soil.
