Water chestnut is an important high value aquatic crop grown in India. Of late the importance of this crop has been increasing due to the presence of appreciable amount of nutritional contents therein like protein, carbohydrates, fiber and minerals. This paper explores the recent agronomic management techniques and post-harvest utilization of water chestnut crop. Being a short duration annual crop, it can be introduced in low-input cropping systems as a viable alternative crop for sustainable horticulture.

A dynamic growth model (CO2FIX) has been used for estimating the Carbon Sequestration Potential of Kafal (Myrica esculenta), an indigenous multipurpose tree used for timber, fuel wood, fiber and in addition to its medicinal value. The present study has been carried out in the campus of V.C.S.G. College of Horticulture, U.U.H.F., Bharsar, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The altitude of the location is ranging from longitude 78.59’:20.28’E, latitude 79.00’:30.05’N and 2000 m MSL altitude. The temperature and rainfall of this hilly area ranged from -4.0 to 28.

Pomegranate (Punica grantum L.) is a high value commercial horticultural crop grown extensively throughout Maharashtra. Among the different diseases on pomegranate Alternaria leaf and fruit spot caused by Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler, is becoming a serious and emerging problem to growers in Maharashtra. Therefore, in present studies fungicides (six systemic, five non systemic and two combi fungicides) were tested in vitro against A. alternata.

The present investigation was carried out during 2015-16, in the Department of Horticulture, V.N.M.K.V. Parbhani, Maharashtra. Aonla (Emblica officinalis) also known as Indian gooseberry is one of the oldest Indian fruits and considered as “Wonder fruit for health”. The aonla candy was made up by using different treatments i.e. sugar syrup solutions, dipping time and drying methods. There are two levels of sugar syrup concentrations i.e. 60% and 70%, three dipping times i.e.36 hrs, 42 hrs and 48 hrs and three drying methods i.e. sun drying, solar drying and cabinet drying.

The present investigation was carried out to study the vvariability and heritability component estimates for different characters of carrot. The experimental material comprised of 96 genotypes of carrot and laid out in an augmented block design comprising of 3 checks (Ghataprabha Local, Vigro Kuruda and Pusa Vrishti) with 6 blocks to screen the genotypes comprising of European and Asiatic types with diverse colors at University of horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot during 2016-2017. The experiment was carried out to know the effects of high density planting and different mulches on quality parameters of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Alphonso at Regional Horticulture Research and Extension Centre, Dharwad (University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot) during May - 2016 to June – 2018.
