Histopathological characteristics

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the common types of cancer in Vietnam. Over 50% of GCs are diagnosed at an unresectable stage. Deficiency in mismatch repair proteins (MMR) leading to microsatellite instability (MSI-H) is a crucial prognostic factor currently under investigation in these patients. This study aimed to determine the rate of MMR protein expression and its correlation with clinical characteristics, histopathological features, and overall survival in unresectable GC patients.

mmune mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) is a sub-type of inflammatory myopathies (IIM) that presents with significant muscle weakness, elevated creatine kinase (CK) levels and histopathological features of muscle fiber necrosis, with and without myositis specific antibodies. This is a retrospective review of all patients at Pathology Department, Hue Central Hospital with the diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma between January 1st 2017 and June 30th, 2018. The patient’s clinical data and histopathological findings are presented. The histopathological diagnosis was in accordance with the WHO 1991 classification table.

Diagnosis The diagnosis of diphtheria is based on clinical signs and symptoms plus laboratory confirmation. Respiratory diphtheria should be considered in patients with sore throat, pharyngeal exudates, and fever. Other symptoms may include hoarseness, stridor, or palatal paralysis. The presence of a pseudomembrane should prompt consideration of diphtheria. Once a clinical diagnosis of diphtheria is made, diphtheria antitoxin should be administered as soon as possible. Laboratory diagnosis is based either on cultivation of C. diphtheriae or toxigenic C.
