  • Supply chain risk management (SCRM) is a key component of not only supply success but firm success as well. All Companies aim to achieve the highest level in quantity and quality of their products in the shortest time while preserving the safety of their workers and providing all appropriate conditions for them. Whereas many institutions spend a lot of money to implement international safety and quality standards in order to reach this goal, they continue to suffer from some failures on the level of worker safety and unstable product quality.

  • In this paper, we propose to use Mediapipe, which is a Microsoft built-in framework for 3D human pose estimation. The test was evaluated against the MADS (Martial Arts, Dancing, and Sports Dataset) database, in which we focused on sports videos such as: basketball, volleyball, football, rugby, tennis and badminton. The average estimate error is between 100-200mm. The 3D human posture estimation results are a good result in supporting sports analysis.

  • A loss of adequate Situation Awareness (SA) may play a major role in the genesis of critical incidents in anesthesia and critical care. This observational study aimed to determine the frequency of SA errors in cases of a critical incident reporting system (CIRS).

  • Microsatellite polymorphism has always been a challenge for genome assembly and sequence alignment due to sequencing errors, short read lengths, and high incidence of polymerase slippage in microsatellite regions. Despite the information they carry being very valuable, microsatellite variations have not gained enough attention to be a routine step in genome sequence analysis pipelines.

  • Human factors play an inevitable role in maintenance activities, and the occurrence of Human Errors (HEs) affects system reliability and safety, equipment performance and economic results. The high HE rate increased researchers’ attention towards Human Reliability Analysis (HRA) and HE assessment approaches. In these approaches, various environmental and individual factors influence the performance of maintenance operators affecting Human Error Probability.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method to quantify the neural synchronization between subjects in the collaborative process through electroencephalogram (EEG) hyperscanning. We hypothesized that the neural synchronization in EEGs will increase when the communication of the operators is smooth and the teamwork is better.

  • This paper analyzed the root causes of failure and types of human error in 300 cases of electrical component failures. We analyzed the operating experience of electrical components by methods of root causes in K-HPES (Korean-version of Human Performance Enhancement System) and by methods of human error types in HuRAMþ (Human errorRelated event root cause Analysis Method Plus). As a result of analysis, the most electrical component failures appeared as circuit breakers and emergency generators.

  • The well-studied supervised Relation Extraction algorithms require training data that is accurate and has good coverage. To obtain such a gold standard, the common practice is to do independent double annotation followed by adjudication. This takes significantly more human effort than annotation done by a single annotator.

  • Competitors. Monitoring the network could be used for corporate research; for exam- ple, gathering info about how a company uses electricity, from which utility, and for what loads. The curious party could be a competing utility, or a manufacturer of more electrically efficient equipment. Human error. This can affect control system implementation (thus the need for com- missioning), key sharing, network administration, physical security, upgrades, flaws in software and hardware development, etc. ...

  • This third edition of Analytical Chemistry for Technicians is the culmination and final product of a series of four projects funded by the National Science Foundation’s Advanced Technological Education Program and two supporting grants from the DuPont Company. The grant funds have enabled me to utilize an almost limitless reservoir of human and other resources in the development and completion of this manuscript and to vastly improve and update the previous edition. A visible example is the CD that accompanies this book.

  • ost of the problems of analyzing survey data have been reasonably well handled, except those revolving around the existence of interaction effects. Indeed, increased efficiency in handling multivariate analyses even with non-numerical variables, has been achieved largely by assuming additivity. An approach to survey data is proposed which imposes no restrictions on interaction effects, focuses on importance in reducing predictive error, operates sequentially, and is independent of the extent of linearity in the classifications or the order in which the explanatory factors are introduced...
