Pharmacological treatments, primarily oral NSAIDs, constituted 73.9% usage for knee osteoarthritis. Despite the known adverse effects of NSAIDs, they are recommended for KOA management. This study aimed to analyze the cost-effectiveness of hyaluronic acid injections relative to oral medication treatment in patients with KOA from health insurance payer’s perspective.

A first-year interim analysis of this two-year study suggested that intra-articular injections of highly purified, natural-origin polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid (HA) as a fixed combination (PNHA) might improve knee function and joint pain more effectively than HA alone in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA).

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most prevalent form of joint disease and commonly affects the hip. Hip OA is associated with a high socioeconomic burden. Intra-articular hyaluronic acid (HA) injection may be of benefit but quality evidence for HA use in hip OA is lacking.

Subacromial impingement is a common cause of shoulder complaints in general practice. When the initial treatment with acetaminophen and low dose Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs fails, triamcinolone acetonide injections are commonly used. Triamcinolone acetonide injections are effective at four to six weeks.

To identify predictive factors of response to viscosupplementation (VS) in patients with hip osteoarthritis (HOA). Methods: Prospective, multicentre, open-label trial, achieved in daily practice conditions. Patients with HOA were treated with a single intra-articular injection of a cross-linked hyaluronic acid combined with mannitol (HAnox-M-XL), using imaging guidance.

We have reported that a single intra-articular injection of diclofenac etalhyaluronate (SI-613) exerted a potent and long-lasting analgesic effect in experimental arthritis models. In the present study, we investigated the effect of SI-613 on the production of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HMW-HA) in synoviocytes from osteoarthritis (OA) patients and compared its efficacy with that of hyaluronic acid (HA).

Studies have shown that the combined application of hyaluronic acid (HA) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can repair degenerated cartilage and delay the progression of knee osteoarthritis (KOA). The purpose of this study was to explore the efficacy and safety of the intra-articular injection of PRP combined with HA compared with the intra-articular injection of PRP or HA alone in the treatment of KOA.
