Hydrocarbon accumulations

This study investigated the bioaccumulation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the edible saltwater clam Meretrix sp. under laboratory conditions. The clams were collected from the Can Gio coastal area and transported alive in an icebox to the laboratory on the same day. Before the exposure experiment, the tested clams were kept in artificial seawater under laboratory conditions for 20 days.

Transtensional faults are well developed in the S Block of the South Asia area, which have an important impact on the hydrocarbon accumulation. However, the transtensional fault structure is very complex. Based on drilling and seismic data interpretation results, faults are divided into three typical types in the Lower Cretaceous, which can help to understand the complex fault system. The main faults are distributed in the NNW-SSE direction and parallel arrangement with dextral strike-slip shear characteristics, which determines the development of the tectonic belt.

Accelerated exploitation of oil and gas resources planned and implemented by ONGC and BGEIPL in west coast offshore region would result into stress particularly on marine environment. The long term physical, chemical and biological changes due to routine discharges from offshore installations can best be assessed through a study on accumulation of hydrocarbons and heavy metals in fishes, plankton and sediments which together form biotic and abiotic components of marine environment.

In this paper, a data analysis model for membrane separation has been incorporated with HYSYS as a user defined unit operation in order to optimise performance and redesign the membrane system for CO2 separation from natural gas. Parameter sensitivities have been studied for different crude gas flow and CO2 contained in gas.

The main purpose is to present an overall understanding of the geological structure, sedimentary basins and hydrocarbon systems of the whole Western Black Sea Zone (WBSZ). Th is study is based on original data from boreholes, seismic and gravity-magnetic surveys and hydrocarbon accumulations.
