  • "Productivity of sorghum (Sorghum bicolar L.) at diverse irrigation regimes and sowing dates in semi-arid and arid environment" was conducted to determine impact of sowing dates, irrigation regimes, and cultivars on yield and growth traits during 2016 and 2017 at two locations in Pakistan. Determining optimal sowing date, optimal number of irrigation applications, and best-performing cultivars is critical to maximizing achievable sorghum yield in semiarid and arid environments.

  • Weather is the major threats for wheat production in South East Asia region and highly influenced by the environmental conditions, sowing date, nature of genotypes and growth stages of wheat. Climate change is a serious concern for the food security and lively hood of small farmers as reported from all over world. A period of 30 years is decided as a period of climate change study by World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).So the period from 1985-2016 is taken for the study.

  • A study was conducted in Karnataka, India from 2013-14 at College of Agriculture, Bijapur, (UAS, Dharwad) to know the effect of weather parameters in seven dates of sowing from I Fortnight (FN) July to I FN of October on sunflower powdery mildew. Weather correlations in I FN July dates shown significant positive impact of cloud cover at 20-1 days before observation (DBO) on the powdery mildew incidence, highly significant parameters that affected the powdery mildew at 20-16 DBO were minimum temperature (- 0.95) as well as maximum temperature (0.98) and maximum vapour pressure at (-0.

  • Twenty lentil genotypes were taken to study the dry matter production, partitioning, and yield, under three different dates of sowing (15 November, 6 December, and 27 December), data were recorded at various growth stages. A decrease in root dry matter in late sowings at pre-flowering and post-flowering was observed. Crop grown on the second sowing (late sown, 6 December) registered higher means for total dry weight and yield at 50 and 65 days after sowing

  • It is resulted that the growth characters of pea indicated significant effect of sowing dates as sowing dates, D1 (1st November) had recorded maximum plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, earliest 50% flowering and harvesting and SPAD value at all the growth stages, while minimum in D4 (16th December) date of sowing. Yield attributes traits revealed significant impact of date of sowing in garden pea. Highest number of pods per plant was recorded under D1 (1st November), D2, D3 and D4.

  • An attempt has been made in the present paper to study the agroclimatic potential for the future periods from 2020 to 2099 with A1B-GHG ( Greenhouse Gas Emissions Scenarios) emission scenarios which have been derived from PRECIS (Providing Regional Climate for impact Studies). Rainfall data was used to estimate decadal change in the stable rainfall at various growth stages of transplanted rice of five different representative stations pertaining to Terai, Old Alluvial, New Alluvial, Red & Laterite, and Coastal Saline zones of West Bengal.

  • Field experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Station, Almel to study the Impact of date of sowing and nutrient management on yield and nutrient uptake of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes under late sown irrigated condition during rabi 2014-15. The experiment was laid out in split-split plot design with three replications. There were three genotypes (HD-3090, NIAW-34 and DWR-195) in main plot treatments, two sowing date (December 15th and December 30th) in sub plot treatment and two fertilizer levels (100:75:50 and 125:93.75:62.

  • To study the impact of low poly tunnel and planting time on the growth parameters and yield performance of Muskmelon, an experiment were conducted in 2016-17 to 2017-18 at vegetable experimental farm, Nalanda College of Horticulture, Noorsarai, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur). The treatments consisted of five date of sowing i.e.,5th December, 15th December, 25th December, 5th January and 15th January under open field as well as low plastic poly tunnel respectively. The farmer practice is taken as a control in open field.
