There has been an extensive body of research on the issue of credit quality management by scholars, economists and policymakers in Vietnam and abroad with regards to a number of theoretical and practical issues. An overview of those studies is presented in the following section.

This study assesses the importance of monetary policy in macroeconomic stability in Vietnam through controlling the credit growth; evaluates the relevance of the new Keynes model in explaining macroeconomic fluctuations; uses the SVAR new Keynes model to evaluate the response of macro variables to the shocks of themselves; proposes the DSGE new Keynes model that serves to analyze, forecast and communicate macroeconomic’s policies in Vietnam.

To clarify the theoretical framework for the relationship between ownership structure and performance of the banking system; analyze the current status of ownership in relation to the level of effectiveness of the commercial banking system in Vietnam. To measure the impact of ownership ratios and the quality of corporate governance on the performance of the bank using econometric models; make recommendations on ownership structure to improve the performance of Vietnameses commercial banks.
