Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) genes are critical genes involved in important biomedical aspects, including organ transplantation, autoimmune diseases and infectious diseases. The gene family contains the most polymorphic genes in humans and the difference between two alleles is only a single base pair substitution in many cases.

Candidiasis is the commonest fungal disease found in humans affecting mucosa, skin, nails and internal organs. It is caused by various species of yeast like fungi belonging to genus Candida with Candida albicans as the representative species. This study was undertaken to find out the prevalence of candidiasis in immunocompromised patients in this part of the country as well as to identify the different species isolated. History was elicited from all the patients enrolled in this study after taking informed consent from the patient.

Despite significant accomplishments to date, kidney transplantation is a relatively young field in medicine. Due to the armamentarium of agents available to effectively suppress the immune system, the past decade has seen a shift in focus from prevention of rejection to a focus on extending the life of the allograft and novel strategies to increase the organ donor pool. This book covers basic concepts in kidney transplantation while also addressing ways to manage kidney transplant recipients in order to maximize patient and graft survival.

Some organic pest management strategies include using crop rotations that disrupt the pest life cycle, improving soil quality, practicing good sanitation, using optimum planting densities, timing planting and transplanting operations to avoid high pest populations, employing biological control, and growing resistant varieties. Approved pesticides that have been listed in the grower’s OSP can be used in organic production, but should be used as judiciously and as specific to the pest organism as possible.

It may also infiltrate different organs, including liver, spleen, lymph nodes, CNS, kidneys, and gonads. Treatment options for patients with acute leukemia include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and stem cell or bone marrow transplantation. Finding a cure is a realistic goal for both ALL and AML, especially in younger patients. However, long-term survival is reachable in about one half of patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and in the minority of patients with acute myeloid leukemia.
