Thematic maps present information relating to spatial variations in the distribution of specific geographical features at a regional scale or across the entire basin. The spatial distribution of thematic maps aids in decision-making of management of resources. Different thematic maps generated for the Kinnerasani basin include watershed boundary, drainage network, slope map, landuse/landcover map and soil map with the help of Survey of India topographical map and Cartosat DEM. LULC map was developed using IRS P6 LISS III satellite data.

Precipitation records often suffer from missing data values for certain time periods due to various reasons, one of them being the malfunctioning of rain gauges. This is an important issue in practical hydrology as it affects the continuity of rainfall data. The missing data values ultimately influence the results of hydrologic studies that use rainfall data as one of the input variables. Therefore, it is crucial to estimate the missing rainfall data for qualitative hydrologic assessment.

Reality TV is only one of the ways in which the visual images of surveillance cameras are circulated. It is institutional and often commercial, so usually individuals do not have an active role in producing it – except when it comes to some programs presenting ‘the funniest home videos’. Webcams are of a different order. Also many of them are institutional and commercial, but there is a huge amount of webcams installed by individuals, for other individuals, without any commercial tone.
