This study aimed to extract L-citrulline from the pseudo aqueous solution of watermelon rind through the ion exchange process using Purolite® C100 resin. The adsorption kinetics of L-citrulline onto the cation exchange resins was investigated under different experimental conditions including pH, potassium concentration and L-citrulline concentration of initial solution.

This thesis presents an evaluation of the mapping performance of a variety of SLAM algorithms that are freely available in the Robot Operating System (ROS), in conjunction with ranging data from various ranging sensors suitable for use onboard small UAS. To compare the quality of the generated maps, an existing metric was initially employed, however deficiencies noted in this metric led to the development of two new metrics. A discussion of both the existing and new map quality metrics, and the advantages and disadvantages of each, is presented as part of this thesis.

The objective of the project was to portray memories of the Millennium Drought period through the development of artworks and this was initially undertaken with a photoshoot in January 2014. The project marries fine art methodologies with digital media and contributes to contemporary art practices that re-imagine the ways that weather can impact the environment and inhabitants living on the land. The artworks created are overall a documentation of my stories and memories from North East Victoria.

In this paper, oxidation of red methyl (MR) - an azo in dye by UV / H2O2 was studied. The effect of solution volume and initial concentration was studied. Under optimal conditions, project a UV light through the bottom of the solution containing MR. The rate of color change is proportional to the increase of H2O2 concentration. After 50 minutes, the decolorization effect with 16 ppm H2O2 is 38%, slightly higher than the content of 14 ppm H2O2.

The adsorption of uranium (VI) by calcium alginate beads was examined by batch experiments. The effects of environmental conditions on U (VI) adsorption were studied, including contact time, pH, initial concentration of U (VI), and temperature. The alginate beads were characterized by using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Fourier transform infrared spectra indicated that hydroxyl and alkoxy groups are present at the surface of the beads.

This will be done to identify their positive impact on an IPO project in Malaysia to understand the significance of the role of project risk management in determining IPO success.
