Innovating qualitative research methods

The research objective was to analyze the attitudes of decision-makers in the innovation adoption process in the Brazilian beef chain industry. The study’s approach was qualitative and exploratory, and the method was a study of multiple cases in the beef chain industry. To reach the objective, 17 rural properties in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul were investigated. Unstructured interviews were conducted to map the decision-makers’ attitudes regarding the innovation adoption process. Content analysis was performed using the ATLAS.TI software.

Nowadays, lecturers tend to explore creative and qualitative methods in higher education (HE) research across international contexts to gain innovative ways of teaching. The purpose of this research is to examine a new approach to the learning journey of university students and justify how effective it is to HE students. The study was carried out with 50 first-year students at Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU). The first phase involved an augmented reality task in which students created their own “lively” products and reflected on their experience through Flipgrid.

A qualitative study using the cross-case analysis method investigated the experiences of faculty members as they transitioned from one Learning Management System (LMS) to another. The study has several implications for administrators, researchers, instructional designers, trainers, and educators on how to implement a new instructional technology and to facilitate transitioning efforts.
