Insulating substrate

This thesis has two key results, a study on the effect of carbon in electron-beam deposited platinum nano-wires and a novel temperature sensing glass substrate for marker-free thermometry. The thesis focus on the effect of carbon contamination in plasmonic nano-wires composed mainly of platinum produced from FEBID. Because carbon acts as an insulator in the platinum/carbon composite, we model the effect of carbon impurities by reducing the charge carrier concentration inthe platinumwire.

In this work, we will show results of study on the influences of bath temperature on deposition rate and structure, morphology, mechanical properties of Cu electrolessly deposited films onto Acrylon Nitril Butadiene (ABS) surface.
