To develop fertilizer prescription equation for rice, a field experiment was conducted on an inceptisol of farmer‟s field at Arachikuppam village, Puducherry during 2015 by using integrated plant nutrient management system on the basis of STCR approach. The rice grain and straw yield was significantly increased with the soil test values and fertilizer doses of N, P and K. Based on the experiment, the nutrient requirement for producing 1 quintal of rice grain was 1.46 kg of N, 0.60 kg of P2O5 and 1.12 kg of K2O, respectively.

Continuous use of chemical fertilizers without organic sources poses soil health issues whereas organic manures using alone without inorganics could not be able to fulfill the requirement of high nutrient demanding crops due to the bulk and slow-acting nature of these organic fertilizer sources. However, neither organic fertilizers nor inorganic fertilizers alone can maintain productivity. The major yield limiting factors in crops production in Indian soils are NPS deficiencies.

An incubation experiment was conducted to study the combined effect of various fertilizer doses and Soil Test Crop Response (STCR) based Integrated Plant Nutrient System (IPNS) on potassium (K) fractions in bahour soil series of puducherry. The incubation experiment was carried out with ten treatments and three replications. The soil samples were drawn at 0th, 40th and 80th day of incubation and subjected for analysis of Water Soluble K, Exchangeable K, and Non Exchangeable K fractions.

The current field experiment was conducted to know the effect of organics and INM method of nutrition, shade pattern and irrigation schedule on the leaf carbohydrate status and yield of genotype S.274. Field experiments were conducted on a Typic Haplustert of Tamil Nadu by adopting the inductive cum targeted yield model developed for Bt cotton under rainfed situation. The basic parameters viz., NR, Cs, Cf and contribution of nutrients from FYM were computed from the field experimental data developed in the previous cropping season. A two year field experiment on Growth behavior of Pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.] in Pigeonpea Based Cropping System in response to Integrated Nutrient Management Practices in Tarai region of Uttarakhand was conducted at Norman E.
