The study examined the effect of education decentralisation on the practice of community participation in the Philippines. Decentralisation, as an institutional reform initiative in education, is a complex and contested concept resulting in a wide range of responses that addresses system-wide issues to improve access and quality of education. It had been a consistent theme in education reform in recent decades and its introduction brought about several permutations in application and meaning that have achieved mixed results.

A computer system is generally composed of hardware and software. Hardware make up the physical components. Software make up the set of instructions for the computer. Without software, the computer will not be able to perform the tasks that you would like it to do. Introduction Data link control layer – often abbreviated simply to data link layer – is concerned with the transfer of data over a serial data link The transmission mode may be either asynchronous or synchronous and based on either a character-oriented or a bit-oriented transmission control protocol The data link layer is fundamental to the operation of all data communication applications

introduction What is SQL? SQL (pronounced "ess-que-el") stands for Structured Query Language. SQL is used to communicate with a database. According to ANSI (American National Standards Institute), it is the standard language for relational database management systems. SQL statements are used to perform tasks such as update data on a database, or retrieve data from a database. Some common relational database management systems that use SQL are: Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Ingres, etc.

Harrison's Internal Medicine Chapter 129. Staphylococcal Infections Staphylococcal Infections: Introduction Staphylococcus aureus, the most virulent of the many staphylococcal species, has demonstrated its versatility by remaining a major cause of morbidity and mortality despite the availability of numerous effective antistaphylococcal antibiotics. S. aureus is a pluripotent pathogen, causing disease through both toxin-mediated and non-toxin-mediated mechanisms.

Evolutionary Methods for the Design of Reliable Networks Alice E. Smith and Berna Dengiz Introduction to the Design Problem The problem of how to design a network so that certain constraints are met and one or more objectives are optimized is relevant in many real world applications in telecommunications (Abuali et al., 1994a; Jan et al., 1993; Koh and Lee, 1995; Walters and Smith, 1995), computer networking (Chopra et al., 1984; Pierre et al., 1995), water systems (Savic and Walters, 1995) and oil and gas lines (Goldberg, 1989).

SIGNAL PROCESSING IN THE TELEPHONE SYSTEM Until the introduction of the digital telephone, there was virtually no signal processing on the subscriber loop. Indeed, there was no need for it. The majority of subscriber loops were able to transmit voice signals with no particular difficulty and in cases where the lines were longer than usual, line ‘‘loading’’ was used with success. Signal processing has two major aims: (1) To improve the quality of signal transmission over the telephone communication channels....

Data and the Binary Code System ‘Data’, a plural noun, the term used to describe information which is storedand processed by is in computers. It is essential to know how such data are represented electronically before we can begin to understand how it can be communicated between computers, communication devices (e.g. facsimile machines) other data storage or devices. As a necessary introduction to the concept of ‘digital’ transmission, this chapter is devoted to a description of tha method of representing textual and numeric information which is called the ‘binary code’. ...

An Introduction to 3G Networks Introduction What exactly are 3G networks? 3G is short for Third Generation (Mobile System). Here is a quick run-down: † 1G, or first generation systems, were analogue and offered only a voice service – each country used a different system, in the UK TACS (Total Access Communications System) was introduced in 1980. 1G systems were not spectrally efficient, were very insecure against eavesdroppers, and offered no roaming possibilities (no use on holidays abroad.)....

This application note introduces the concepts of digital modulation used in many communications systems today. Emphasis is placed on explaining the tradeoffs that are made to optimize efficiencies in system design. Most communications systems fall into one of three categories: bandwidth efficient, power efficient, or cost efficient. Bandwidth efficiency describes the ability of a modulation scheme to accommodate data within a limited bandwidth. Power efficiency describes the ability of the system to reliably send information at the lowest practical power level.

Telecommunications refers to long-distance communication (the Greek tele means "far off"). At present, such communication is carried out with the aid of electronic equipment such as the Radio, Telegraph, Telephone, and Television. In earlier times, however, smoke signals, drums, light beacons, and various forms of semaphore were used for the same purpose. The information that is transmitted can be in the form of voice, symbols, pictures, or data, or a combination of these.
