In the world, the number of internet users has blown up from only 413 million in 2000 to 3.4 billion in 2016. China and India grab the top two shares despite of having only 50 and 26 percent online internet users, respectively. Internet usage in India has been increased from 242.92 million during 2015 to 390.9 million during 2018.

The Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh has been selected for the extension of promising IPM technologies in selected vegetables as the state is the second largest producer of vegetables in the country after West Bengal. The total area covered under vegetables is 0.84 million ha which account for a total production of 15.8 million tonnes. The aim of the project is to promote awareness and knowledge among the farmers and to fill the technological gaps. Extension of IPM technologies through innovative extension tools in participatory and collaborative approach is most effective.

Integrated pest management (IPM) is an eco-friendly approach for management of pests by connecting biological, cultural and chemical tools to decrease economic, health and environmental hazards. The study assessed the chemical pesticide use in vegetable crops and prioritized the constraints for successful adoption of IPM practice in selected vegetable crops in peri-urban agriculture.

The transfer of IPM in rice is undertaken in the 10 villages of Mandal and Quatbullapur Mandal of Rangareddy district of Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. Out of these 10 villages, a total of 70 farmers from the 5 villages viz. Medchal, Atweli, Dublipur, Girmapur and Railapur were selected randomly. The IPM module for the particular region was developed, validated and promoted with the use of appropriate scouting tactics, proper identification and diagnosis of pests and diseases.

The present study was conducted in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh in the year of 2018-19. Out of 43 mandals, only 5 mandals was purposely selected. From these mandals 12 villages were randomly selected, from these villages 8 vegetables growers were selected from each village by simple random sampling method. Thus the total numbers of 96 vegetables growers were selected. Average productivity of vegetables crop in Nellore is very low (98.72 q. /ha.) and far from the national average yield of 17 mT./ha.

Integrated management of aphelenchoides besseyi infesting tuberose in gangetic plains of west Bengal
An experiment was conducted over two years from 2014 to 2016 to find out the suitable management tactics against Aphelenchoides besseyi Christie in tuberose. The experiment was planned in ‘Strip Factorial Design’. Three nematode management modules, two susceptible crop cultivars and two spacings were used in the experiment. Management modules were adopted in order to manage the population of A. besseyi in tuberose to minimize the infestation for sustainable production of tuberose floral spikes.
