A non-material shell finite element model is developed and applied to the example problem of a slack steel belt moving on two rotating drums. For the first time in the open literature we demonstrate an approach for predicting the time evolution of the lateral run-off velocity of the belt in response to its geometric imperfection and angular drum misalignment.

A velocity field obtained from the ocean surface by high-frequency radar is used to test Lagrangian prediction algorithms designed to evaluate the position of a particle given its initial position and observations of several other simultaneously released particles. The problem is motivated by oceanographic applications such as search and rescue operations and spreading pollutants, especially in coastal regions.

The oily solid waste, which was produced from the oil mine exploiting action in Vietnam, was to be burnt in the primary chamber of the two stable chambers incinerator. The combusting gases in the primary chamber were sampled by the Testo 350 and Testo 360 gas analysers. The recorded gas compositions in the primary chamber were to be employed as a material for the prediction in this paper.

We shortly review the metric formalism for the f(R) gravity. Based on the metric formalism, we study the spherically symmetric static empty space solutions with the gravity Lagrangian L = R+λR 2 . We found the general metric that described the static empty space with the spherically symmetry. Our result is more general than Schwarzschild solution, specially the predicted metric is perturbed Schwarzschild metric of the Einstein theory.
