The issue of developing competencies for students with disabilities has been raising in recent years because of the issuance of a new program for all students from K1-12 - the 2018 General Education Program (GEP). Students with disabilities must face challenges to be able to develop their competencies in different subjects as well as in experiential activities.

Life is the interplay between structural–functional integrity of biological systems and the influence of the external environment. To understand this interplay, it is useful to examine an animal model that competes with harsh environment. The dromedary camel is the best model that thrives under severe environment with considerable durability. The current proteomic study on dromedary organs explains a number of cellular mysteries providing functional correlates to arid living.

For a long time, research on developmental issues in the biological and social sciences was mostly concerned with the early parts of life, such as infancy and adolescence. Studies paying full attention to people after they had passed through late adolescence were rare even though we all know that humans continue to develop. The dynamics of adult life can be as forceful and full of transitory states as is life before 20. Individual development is a lifelong process: from the moment of conception to the moment of death.

Benign and malignant changes in the prostate increase with age. Autopsies of men in the eighth decade of life show hyperplastic changes in 90% and malignant changes in 70% of individuals. The high prevalence of these diseases among the elderly, who often have competing causes of morbidity and mortality, mandates a risk-adapted approach to diagnosis and treatment. This can be achieved by considering these diseases as a series of states.
