Lithium ion batteries

This study presents a preliminary investigation on using pristine aluminum particles as anodes for lithium-ion battery. The microstructural characteristics of aluminum particle samples with sizes from 100 nm (0.1 μm) to 70 µm were analyzed by the SEM and XRD methods. The electrochemical behaviors of the aluminum particles were examined by the cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge/discharge (GCD) measurements.

Lithium (Li) is the lightest metal, has unique physicochemical properties and is the main component of lithium-ion batteries. Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries play a very important role in maximizing the performance of electric devices and vehicles. It is predicted that the metal and mineral demand for lithium-ion batteries will increase 56 times by 2050. In order to meet the increasing demand, in addition to known methods, lithium recovery from geothermal waters has become a very popular research subject.

Nanocomposite material LiFe1-xMxPO4/Gr was successfully synthesized achieving it with single phase. It’s response required electrochemical parameters of positive electrode materials for Li-ion batteries such as: improved diffusion coefficient and conductivity, higher capacity comparative with LFP in same conditional synthesis.
