Ebook "Planctomycetes: Cell structure, origins and biology" introduces Planctomycetes bacteria and deals in detail with their unusual structure, physiology, genomics and evolutionary significance. It is a definitive summary of recent knowledge of this important distinctive group of bacteria, microorganisms which challenge our very concept of the bacterium.

Antibiotic resistance is increasingly popular together with emerging diseases presents an urgent requirement for more and more discovery of novel marine bioactive compounds. Paired-end reads of 16S rRNA sequence of bacteria living in the coral Acropora millepora obtained by the Illumina nextgeneration sequencing technology to be processed by DADA2 pipeline, phyloseq and ggplot2 packages showed that bleached coral mucus had an alpha diversity to be higher than healthy coral mucus. Bacterial infections in medical devices and drug resistance of bacteria can cause chaos in the world due to loss of lives in addition to the cost of device revisions, quarantine, disinfection of infected areas, and patient treatment. Antibacterial coatings of essential oils on medical devices can prevent bacterial attachment and reduce costs. Linalool is an antibacterial constituent of essential oils.

The workflow or framework includes the following steps: data processing, sequence clustering, taxonomic assignment, and data visualization. Moreover, we also like to catch readers’ attention to the information about bacterial communities living in the ocean as most marine microorganisms are unculturable, especially residing in coral reefs, namely, bacteria are associated with the coral Acropora tenuis in this case.

The lucinid clam Loripes orbiculatus lives in a nutritional symbiosis with sulphur-oxidizing bacteria housed in its gills. Although our understanding of the lucinid endosymbiont physiology and metabolism has made significant progress, relatively little is known about how the host regulates the symbiosis at the genetic and molecular levels.

Houseflies (Musca domestica L.) live in intimate association with numerous microorganisms and is a vector of human pathogens. In temperate areas, houseflies will overwinter in environments constructed by humans and recolonize surrounding areas in early summer. However, the dispersal patterns and associated bacteria across season and location are unclear.

In the recent past, there has been an explosion of probiotic health-based products. However, there are many reports indicated that there is poor survival of probiotic bacteria in these products. Further, the survival of these bacteria in the human gastro-intestinal system is questionable. Providing probiotic living cells with a physical barrier against adverse environmental conditions is therefore an approach currently receiving considerable interest. Microencapsulation being one of the most modern methods has considerable effects on probiotic survival.

Organic matter as truly the key to soil fertility and health. Free-living nematodes play important roles in soil nutrient cycling. Nematode excretion may have contributed soluble nitrogen in soil. Nematodes have more C: N ratio and lower N content as compare with the bacteria C: N ratio they consume. Growth efficiency of nematodes is smaller than those of the bacteria. Nitrogen mineralization, abundance of many free-living nematodes populations in soil mainly bacterivorous, omnivorous, and predatory nematodes.

The present investigation was carried out to assess the efficiency as well as effect of bio inoculation of free living N2 fixing bacterial strain (Azotobacter vinelandii strain SRIAz3) with N sources on enhancement of microbial properties of soil. A. vinelandii strain SRIAz3 was isolated from SRI Field (Central Farm, OUAT, Bhubaneswar) with optimum nitrogenase activity [121.09 N2-ase activity (nmole C2H4 mg-1 bacteria-1 h -1 )]. Azotobacter inoculated plots significantly influenced the microbial parameters.

Modern industrialization causes major environmental pollution and degradation. The Environmental changes results the genomic instability in human cells, bacterial cells and yeast cells. Due to high rate of genetic instability, mutation rate has become high and it induces the potential to adaptevolution for living cells. There are several physical and chemical mutagenic agents are available which can induce mutation in genetic materials.

PGPB are free-living soil, rhizosphere, rhizoplane, and phylosphere bacteria that, under some conditions, are beneficial for plants Most of the activities of PGPB have been studied in the rhizosphere. PGPB promote plant growth by directly affect the metabolism of the plants by providing substances that are usually in short supply. The present investigation was conducted at Department of Biological Sciences, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (Deemed-to-be University) Allahabad, during Rabi season 2015-16.

Endophytes are microorganisms mostly bacteria and fungi that lives partially or completely its life cycle inside living plant tissue without causing adverse negative symptoms. Endophytes play a major role in structuring shaping processes of plant such as colonization, competition, coexistence and soil nutrient dynamics. Some endophytes promote growth of their host plants by enhancing the host‟s ability to take up nitrogen and phosphorus.

The useful effects of foods with added live microbes on human health are being increasingly promoted by health professionals. The major probiotic beverage available in the markets today, are milk-based products; usually in the form of fermented milk. However, with an increase in the consumer vegetarianism and demand for cholesterol free probiotics, there is also a demand for the non-dairy based probiotic beverage.

Heavy metals are hazardous to living things and causes deterioration of the environment. Nowadays, contamination of heavy metals in the soil and water has gradually increased by human activities. This study analyzed soils from two industrial sites in Myanmar and lead tolerant soil bacteria, E.coil and Alcaligenes sp. were isolated, and characterized. MIC value of lead for Alcaligenes sp. was 13 mM and for E. coil isolates was 10 mM, respectively.

Use of expensive injurious agrochemicals and pesticides causes stern danger to environment and renders growth of challenging pathogens. At present time, more and more attention has been made towards cost-effective and environment-friendly alternatives to improve natural wealth and assist plant development.

A review on the development of urease inhibitors as antimicrobial agents against pathogenic bacteria
Ureases are enzymes that hydrolyze urea into ammonium and carbon dioxide. They have received considerable attention due to their impacts on living organism health, since the urease activity in microorganisms, particularly in bacteria, are potential causes and/or factors contributing to the persistence of some pathogen infections. This review compiles examples of the most potent antiurease organic substances. Emphasis was given to systematic screening studies on the inhibitory activity of rationally designed series of compounds with the corresponding SAR considerations.
