Identifying genetic variants associated with complex human diseases is a great challenge in genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) arising from genetic background are often dependent. The existing methods, i.e., local index of significance (LIS) and pooled local index of significance (PLIS), were both proposed for modeling SNP dependence and assumed that the whole chromosome follows a hidden Markov model (HMM).

The present study aimed to assess the functional status among 180 rural and urban elderly aged 60 and above during 2018-2019 in Ranebennur Taluk of Haveri district of Karnataka. A self-structured schedule was used to collect the general information, functional status was measured by using Katz Index of Independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Lawton Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL). The present work was carried out during Rabi season in ten farmer’s field of Rajkot district during 2015-16 to 2017-18 in 12 hectare by active participation of 30 numbers of farmers. This programme is with the objective to demonstrate the improved variety of chickpea GG- 5 for production potential. These focused on increased the chickpea productivity, replacement of old variety with promising high yielding improved variety and get feedback from farmers on the performance of chickpea variety. The demonstrated variety GG – 5 performed better in all yeas compare to farmers practices.

The present investigation was carried out to study the vvariability and heritability component estimates for different characters of carrot. The experimental material comprised of 96 genotypes of carrot and laid out in an augmented block design comprising of 3 checks (Ghataprabha Local, Vigro Kuruda and Pusa Vrishti) with 6 blocks to screen the genotypes comprising of European and Asiatic types with diverse colors at University of horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot during 2016-2017. Observations were recorded on 18 quantitative traits including root and plant morphological traits.

Comparative studies on stability parameters and proposed Genotypic selection index for selecting stable genotypes in wingedbean (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus) was carried out according to Eberthart and Russel model with sustainability index model. In stability analysis was carried out on 10 genotypes for seed yield, pod yield, days to flowering, maturity and plant height on 3 year multi location data viz., 2005, 2006 and 2007.
