Systemic inflammatory factors can predict the survival prognosis of gastric cancer (GC) patients after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT). However, whether longitudinal changes in systemic inflammatory factors are associated with short - and long-term outcomes has not been reported.

Informative presence (IP) is the phenomenon whereby the presence or absence of patient data is potentially informative with respect to their health condition, with informative observation (IO) being the longitudinal equivalent. These phenomena predominantly exist within routinely collected healthcare data, in which data collection is driven by the clinical requirements of patients and clinicians.

Heart failure (HF) is a severe clinical syndrome caused by diverse etiologies. Classically left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) has been used as a diagnostic marker as well as to subdivide HF into 3 groups (HFpEF, HFmEF and HFrEF).

Depression and anxiety are common mental health conditions in the older adult population. Understanding the trajectories of these will help implement treatments and interventions. Aims: This study aims to identify depression and anxiety trajectories in older adults, evaluate the interrelationship of these conditions, and recognize trajectory-predicting characteristics.

The increasing incidence of prosthesis revision surgery in the Western world has led to an increased focus on the capacity for stem removal. We previously reported on a femoral stem implanted in goats with an approximate 15% reduction in retention force by drilling longitudinally orientated grooves on the side of the stem.

Attenuated decreases in lung function can signal the onset of acute respiratory events known as pulmonary exacerbations (PEs) in children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis (CF). Univariate joint modeling facilitates dynamic risk prediction of PE onset and accounts for measurement error of the lung function marker.

This paper applies a Bayesian model averaging algorithm to systematically evaluate the “law matters” literature and finds that the positive cross-country relationship between anti-self-dealing rules and stock market development proposed by Djankov, La Porta, Lopez-de-Silanes, and Sheifer (2008, Journal of Financial Economics 88: 430-465) is fragile. In contrast, proxies for information disclosure, political power of incumbents and economic development are found to have strong predictive power for stock market outcome variables.

We present here a project that investigates DLD at multiple levels of analysis and aims to make the reliable prediction and early identification of the difficulties possible. Following the multiple deficit model of developmental disorders, we investigate the DLD phenomenon at the etiological, neural, cognitive, behavioral, and psychosocial levels, in a longitudinal study of preschool children.

Low-frequency acoustic energy released within the Earth's crust and mantle mostly propagates - depending on the density and elasticity of the medium - through several types of seismic waves categorized as body waves (longitudinal P and transverse S) or surface waves (long L and ground roll R). The importance of seismic wave research lies not only in our ability to understand and predict earthquakes and tsunamis, it also reveals information on the Earth's composition and features in much the same way as it led to the discovery of Mohorovicic's discontinuity....
