  • —Through a correlative comparative analysis, the purpose of this study is to utilize LP and the data accumulated between (2009 - 2017) to investigate the optimality of the current transportation strategy of actual costs to transport major Jordanian exports and imports. Study findings reveal that current exporting and importing strategies are ineffective. Results assert that decision-makers have not developed nor have taken the required action needed to resolve excessive expenditures.

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate the function of TRPV4 on ferroptosis in ALI mice induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). In vitro, the regulation of TRPV4 on Ca2+ and ferroptosis was detected by CCK-8, fluorescent probe, and western blot in BEAS-2B cells. In vivo, the role of TRPV4 antagonists on ALI mice was analyzed by determination of pulmonary inflammation, pulmonary edema, and ferroptosis.

  • Around 200 different lipopeptides (LPs) have been identified to date, most of which are produced via Bacillus and Pseudomonas species. The clinical nature of the lipopeptide (LP) has led to a big surge in its research. They show antimicrobial and antitumor activities due to which mass-scale production and purification of LPs are beneficial. Response surface methodology (RSM) approach has emerged as an alternative in the field of computational biology for optimizing the reaction parameters using statistical models. In the present study, Pseudomonas sp.

  • White lupin (Lupinus albus) is a leguminous crop with elite adaptive ability in phosphorus-deficient soil and used as a model plant for studying phosphorus (P) use. However, the genetic basis of its adaptation to low P (LP) remains unclear. ATPase binding cassette (ABC) transports G subfamily play a crucial role in the transportation of biological molecules across the membrane. To date, identification of this subfamily has been analyzed in some plants, but no systematic analysis of these transporters in phosphorus acquisition is available for white lupin.

  • Establishment of a mouse model is important for investigating the mechanism of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In this study, we observed and compared the evolution of the pathology in two mouse models of COPD induced by cigarette smoke (CS) exposure alone or in combination with lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

  • Inhalation of endotoxin (LPS) induces a predominantly neutrophilic airway inflammation and has been used as model to test the anti-inflammatory activity of novel drugs. In the past, a dose exceeding 15–50 μg was generally needed to induce a sufficient inflammatory response.

  • A surfactant protein-A-derived peptide, which we call SPA4 peptide (amino acids: GDFRYSDGTPVNYTNWYRGE), alleviates lung infection and inflammation. This study investigated the effects of intratracheally administered SPA4 peptide on systemic, lung, and health parameters in an outbred mouse strain, and in an intratracheal lipopolysaccharide (LPS) challenge model.

  • Sepsis-induced acute lung injury (ALI) is a clinical syndrome characterized by the injury of alveolar epithelium and pulmonary endothelial cells. This study aimed to investigate the regulation of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) taurine up-regulated gene 1 (TUG1) in a murine ALI model and in primary murine pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells (PMVECs) stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

  • The purpose of this study was to study the pathogenecity of cold and heatshocked bacteria using Pasteurella multocida and rabbits as a model. Pasteurella multocida is an enigmatic pathogen. The capsule and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of Pasteurella multocida constitute the major components of the bacterial cell surface; they play key roles in a range of interactions between the bacteria and the hosts they colonize or infect. Pasteurella multocida was inoculated into nutrient broth tubes and incubated at 37°C for 24 hours.

  • The response surface methodology is utilized as a common approximation model to fit the relationship between responses and design variables in the worst-case scenario of uncertainties. The target mean ratio ߙ is applied to ensure the quality of the process by providing the robustness for all types of quality characteristics and with a trade-off between variability and deviance from the ideal point. The Lp metric method is used to integrate all objectives in one overall function.

  • Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is among the most common causes of respiratory failure in critically ill patients. Despite extensive research, ARDS remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality, with no effective pharmacological treatment options. The present study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of bone marrow-derived stem cells (BM-MSCs) compared with Dexamethasone (Dex) and Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) against acute lung injury (ALI) induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in rats.

  • Spinal cord injury (SCI) remains a huge medical problem nowadays as there is no hospital providing the versatile strategies for repairing central nervous system and restoring function. Herein, we focused on PC-12 cells as an important research tool and studied the potential role of resveratrol (RSV) in inflammation induced by LPS.

  • In this paper we simultaneously address four constraints relevant to airline revenue management problem: Flight cancellation, customer no-shows, overbooking and refunding. We develop a linear program closely related to the dynamic program formulation of the problem which we later use to approximate the optimal decision rule for rejecting or accepting customers. We give a novel proof that the optimal objective function of this linear program is always an upper bound for the dynamic program.

  • Results of computational complexity exist for a wide range of phrase structure-based grammar formalisms, while there is an apparent lack of such results for dependency-based formalisms. We here adapt a result on the complexity of ID/LP-grammars to the dependency framework. Contrary to previous studies on heavily restricted dependency grammars, we prove that recognition (and thus, parsing) of linguistically adequate dependency grammars is~A/T'-complete.

  • In (Kanazawa, 1998) it was shown that rigid Classical Categorial Grammars are learnable (in the sense of (Gold, 1967)) from strings. Surprisingly there are recent negative results for, among others, rigid associative Lamb ek (L) grammars. In this paper the non-lcarnability of the class of rigid grammars in LP (Associative-Commutative Lambek calculus) and LP0 (same, but allowing the empty sequent in derivations) will be shown.

  • .\lodern linguistic theory attributes surface complexity to interacting snbsystems of constraints. ["or instance, the I D LP gr,'unmar formalism separates constraints on immediate dominance from those on linear order. 5hieber's (t983) I D / I . P parsing algorithm shows how to use ID and LP constraints directly in language processing, without expandiqg them into an intcrmrdiate "object g a m m a r . " However, Shieber's purported O(:,Gi 2 .n ~) runtime bound underestimates the tlillicnlty of I D / L P parsing. I D / L P parsing is actually NP-complete, anti the worst-case runtime of...
