Magnetite (Fe3O4) is a potential material for spintronic development due to its high Curie temperature (858 K) and half-metallic structure with only one spin polarization at Fermi level. The bulk properties of Fe3O4 make it a big challenge to grow perfectly stoichiometric thin films at a low temperature.

Zinc oxide (ZnO) is one of the most promising oxide possibilities for use in a number of industries due to its unique properties. Because of its broad direct bandgap (3.37 eV) and strong exciton binding energy (60 meV) at ambient temperature, ZnO not only conducts electricity well but also transmits visible light and emits UV light.

Self-propelled catalytic micromotors offer considerable promise in terms of many applications. Catalytic micromotors are strongly influenced by the presence and concentration of specific ions and chemicals in the environment, making them useful as sensors and actuators. In this work, copper (Cu)-platinum (Pt) micromotors were fabricated by using the magnetron sputtering method for the first time in the literature and their applications based on the detection of miRNA-21 were evaluated.

In this study, thin films of Co, Ni, Pd, and Pt were prepared on Co3O4 support material in pellet form using the direct current (DC) magnetron sputtering method for use as catalysts for hydrogen generation from NaBH4. Characterization of the catalysts was carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). According to cross-sectional SEM images, catalyst thicknesses were observed in the range of approximately 115.3–495.8 nm. The particle sizes were approximately 25.0, 21.4, 33.9, and 9.

The results showed that Pt particles, deposited by dc-magnetron gun, surround the large Co-clusters deposited by rf-magnetron gun. In addition, the increase of Co content led to an increase in the electrochemical active surface area (EASA) from 23.75 m2 /gPt to 47.54 m2 /gPt for pure Pt and Pt:Co (1:3), respectively, which corresponded the improvement of the utilization of Pt by a factor of 1.91.

Despite the important role being played by the oxide charge in ferroelectric memories the origin and distribution of this charge in LN-based heterostructures during the crystallization of LN films are not clear yet. The present work is aimed to investigate how the oxide charge evolves during the crystallization of amorphous LieNbeO films deposited onto Si substrates.

Amorphous lithium niobate (LiNbO3) films were deposited onto silicon substrates by the radiofrequency magnetron sputtering method in a pure Ar environment and an Ar þ O2 gas mixture with various oxygen contents. The oxide charge existing in as-grown films has two components: the positive Qox distributed in the bulk of a film and the negative Qox located at the film/substrate interface with a maximum magnitude corresponding to an Ar (80) O2 (20) gas mixture.

Metal/graphene heterojunction structure has been one of the most crucial tools in the growth of high-performance Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) platform, which is appropriate for sensing applications. In this research, we developed a SERS platform, graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) decorated silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on cellulose paper substrate, in which GNRs was synthesized by wet chemical based on unzipping process of Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), then GNRs hybridized with AgNPs through magnetron sputtering method.

The present study demonstrated that TiN-coated implants showed less P. gingivalis surface adhesion and less bone resorption induced by P. gingivalis. In addition, the bone implant contact ratio of TiN-coated implants showed the highest percentage, with significant differences compared to machined, sandblasted, acid-etched, and radiofrequency magnetron sputter hydroxyapatite-coated surface modifications, even with P. gingivalis infection. This was the first report to demonstrate that TiN-coated implants were excellent for inducing osseointegration and inhibiting P.
