Begonias hold significant importance due to their use as culinary plants, medicinal remedies, decorative elements, and high-value crops. This research aims to find new explant materials for regeneration shoots and direct flowering with high frequency. In this study, high frequency shoot regeneration and in vitro flowering from petal explants of Begonia x hiemalis Fotsch were achieved. Whole petal explants disinfected with an AgNPs solution at 0.5 g/L for 15 min achieved the highest survival rate.

Orthodontics is one of the increasingly popular dental specialties. With the driving force in technology and the development of materials, nowadays, straightening options is more predictable with clear aligner, it helps to improve the problems of malocclusion more possibly and more comfortably. The aim is to present the efficacy of the latest orthodontic therapy, and to offer patients more treatment options in correcting various types of malocclusion.

Peptides which should be generated from the neuropeptide FF (NPFF) precursor were identified in a neuronal (human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y) cell line and in COS-7 cells after transient transfection of the human proNPFFAcDNA and were comparedwith those detected in themouse spinal cord. After reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatogra-phy of soluble material, NPFF-related peptides were im-munodetected with antisera raised against NPFF and identified by using on-line capillary liquid chromatography/ nanospray ion trap tandem mass spectrometry. ...

Structural elucidation of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from threeserotypef Haemophilus influenzaeclinical isolates RM6255, RM7290and RM6252 has been achieved using NMR spectroscopy techniques and ESI-MS on O-deacyl-ated LPS and core oligosaccharide material (OS) as well as ESI-MS n on permethylated dephosphorylated OS. This is the first study to report structural details on LPS from sero-type f strains.

Structural elucidation of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from three nontypeable Haemophilus influenzaeclinical isolates, 1209, 1207 and 1233 was achieved using NMR spectro-scopy and ESI-MS on O-deacylated LPS and core oligo-saccharide (OS) material as well as ESI-MS n on permethylated dephosphorylated OS. It was found that the organisms expressed a tremendous heterogeneous glyco-form mixture resulting from the variable length of the OS chains attached to the common structural element of H.

The nano-scale spatial organization of metallic and other inorganic materi-als into 1D objects is a key task in nanotechnology. Nano-scale fibers and tubes are very useful templates for such organization because of their inherent 1D organization. Fibrillar biological molecules and biomolecular assemblies are excellent physical supports on which to organize the inor-ganic material.

Background: To be useful for genetic display of foreign peptides a viral coat protein must tolerate peptide insertions without major disruption of subunit folding and capsid assembly. The folding of the coat protein of RNA phage MS2 does not normally tolerate insertions in its AB-loop, but an engineered single-chain dimer readily accepts them as long as they are restricted to one of its two halves.

Principles of Antibacterial Chemotherapy The choice of an antibacterial compound for a particular patient and a specific infection involves more than just a knowledge of the agent's pharmacokinetic profile and in vitro activity.

Tzanck Smear A Tzanck smear is a cytologic technique most often used in the diagnosis of herpesvirus infections [herpes simplex virus (HSV) or varicella zoster virus (VZV)] (see Figs. 173-1 and 173-3). An early vesicle, not a pustule or crusted lesion, is unroofed, and the base of the lesion is scraped gently with a scalpel blade. The material is placed on a glass slide, air-dried, and stained with Giemsa or Wright's stain. Multinucleated epithelial giant cells suggest the presence of HSV or VZV; culture or immunofluorescence testing must be performed to identify the specific virus.

Introduction: The plant Cannabis sativa L. has a long history for human being since about BC 2000 for its use as fiber material, food and folk medicine; cannabis (hemp, marijuana) means the whole plant itself and its dried products except for its stem and seeds. The word “hashish” is mainly used for the resin of the cannabis plant.
