Research purposes: We consider some inverse source problems for parabolic equations, focus on three topics: First, we give stability estimates. Second, we propose regularization methods to solve these problems. Third, we set up algorithms and give numerical examples to illustrate the performance of the proposed regularization methods in this thesis.

The negative-binomial sum is an extension of a geometric sum. It has been arisen from the necessity to resolve practical problems in telecommunications, network analysis, stochastic finance and insurance mathematics, etc. Up to the present, the topics related to negative-binomial sums like asymptotic distributions and rates of convergence have been investigated by many mathematicians. However, in a lot of various situations, the results concerned the rates of convergence for negative-binomial sums are still restrictive.

Consider the inverse eigenvalue problem of the Schr¨dinger operator deo fined on a finite interval. We give optimal and almost optimal conditions for a set of eigenvalues to determine the Schr¨dinger operator. These conditions are o simple closedness properties of the exponential system corresponding to the known eigenvalues. The statements contain nearly all former results of this topic. We give also conditions for recovering the Weyl-Titchmarsh m-function from its values m(λn ).

We show that any analytically integrable Hamiltonian system near an equilibrium point admits a convergent Birkhoff normalization. The proof is based on a new, geometric approach to the topic. 1. Introduction Among the fundamental problems concerning analytic (real or complex) Hamiltonian systems near an equilibrium point, one may mention the following two: 1) Convergent Birkhoff. In this paper, by “convergent Birkhoff” we mean a normalization, i.e.

The PageRank algorithm, used in the Google search engine, greatly improves the results of Web search by applying probabilistic model on the link structure of Webs to evaluate the “importance” of Webs. In PageRank probabilistic model, the links and webs are uniform, so the rank score of webs are quite independent from their content. In practice, the researchers often hope that the web results can be ranked by their proposed topics. Moreover, when computer’s techniques solve given problems ineffectively, it’s necessary to do better research in theoretical problems. ...

The long-awaited sequel to the "Concepts and Practice of Mathematical Finance" has now arrived. Taking up where the first volume left off, a range of topics is covered in depth. Extensive sections include portfolio credit derivatives, quasi-Monte Carlo, the calibration and implementation of the LIBOR market model, the acceleration of binomial trees, the Fourier transform in option pricing and much more. Throughout Mark Joshi brings his unique blend of theory, lucidity, practicality and experience to bear on issues relevant to the working quantitative analyst....

There has been significant interest in the topic of finding permutations containing many copies of the same pattern. In this paper, we will be concerned with the other extremity, permutations containing as many different patterns as possible. At the Conference on Permutation Patterns, Otago, New Zealand, 2003, Herb Wilf asked how many distinct patterns could be contained in a permutation of length n. Based on empirical evidence, it seemed this number may approach the theoretical upper bound of 2n.

Geometry is a branch of mathematics related research space. Using experience, or perhaps by intuition, it is recognized by the space fundamental characteristics, the geometric axioms called the system. Axiomatic system including the original concept is not defined and the axioms (also known as the proposition) does not prove a relationship defined between the concepts.
