The lichen is an association between a fungus and a phytosynthetic symbiont, generally green algae or cyanobacteria. Lichens have a number of practical applications, especially as sources of medicinal substances. Usnea aciculifera Vain, a lichen growing widely and abundantly on the bark of Pinus dalatensis at Lam Dong Province, Vietnam, has not yet been chemically and pharmaceutically studied in Vietnam.

Human being has strong and historic connections with plants to fulfill food, feed, and shelter. Moreover, human uses plants as medicine for the treatment of various diseases. Plants are chemical factories for the biosynthesis of the huge number of secondary metabolites (SMs) that are directly used as a medicine or indirectly used in the development of commercial pharmaceutical drugs.

Esterification of organic acids with alcohols under mild conditions in high yields using graphite oxide, a readily available and inexpensive material, as an effective reagent is described. Esters are a class of compounds widely distributed in nature. Esters encompass a large family of organic compounds with broad applications in medicine, biology, chemistry, and industry as plasticizers, solvents, perfumes, and flavor chemicals and also as precursors for a gamut of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and other fine chemicals.

Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is a polymer that is widely used as a carrier for drug delivery systems (DDS). A library of N-PEGylated quinoline derivatives of PEG molecular weight 200 was prepared rapidly after the activation of PEGs using maleic anhydride. Quinoline with a polymer backbone is essential as new material. PEG is a water-soluble nonionic polymer approved by food and drug organizations for medicine applications. Because of its nontoxic grapheme, it is widely utilized in numerous biochemical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and industrialized applications.

Traditional medicine has been used for generations and is more affordable and easily obtainable –even in rural areas- therefore it continues to be widely used and plays a significant role in health care in Myanmar. Now, Fame Pharmaceuticals has made many efforts to produce a potent herbal medicine with the extracts of herbal plants. This research focused on Myanmar Indigenous Medicine of the leaves of T. triquetrum for commercial use in low cost for local people and some bioactivity studies.

Nature has been a source of medicinal agents for thousands of years and an impressive number of modern drugs have been isolated from natural sources, based on their use in traditional medicine. Since ancient time’s plants as well as fungus sources of medicinal compounds have continued to play a dominant role in maintenance of human health. Over 50% of all modern clinical drugs are of natural product origin and play an important role in drug development programs in the pharmaceutical industry.

Therapeutic reference pricing (TRP) based on the WHO daily defined dose (DDD) is a method frequently employed for the cost-containment of pharmaceuticals. Our objective was to compare average drug use in the real world with DDD and to evaluate whether TRP based on DDD could result in cost savings on maintenance medication and the total direct health expenditures for asthma patients treated with Symbicort Turbuhaler (SYT) and Seretide Diskus (SED) in Hungary.

Gum is natural biopolymers and formed via process of gummosis due to biotic and abiotic stresses i.e. injury, infection, drought, heat, high temperature, asby product of metabolic pathway and cannot re-enter in the system. Gum karaya (Sterculia urens Roxb.) is a dry deciduous tree belonging to the family Sterculiaceae distributed throughout India and Chhattisgarh. Karaya gum is the dried exudate obtained from trees of Sterculia species. Karaya gum is predominately used for many industries such as petroleum and gas, textiles, paper and pulp, pharmaceuticals, medicine and several other products.
