  • The study revealed that more than two fifth (42.50%) of seed growers fall under high knowledge category, followed by medium (32.50%) and low knowledge (25.00%). The variables like education, farming experience, achievement motivation, management orientation and mass media participation were showed significant relationship with knowledge level of pigeonpea growers at 5 per cent level of probability. The R2 (0.672) value indicated that, the twelve independent variables put together, contributed a significant amount of variation (67.20%) in the overall knowledge level of pigeonpea seed growers.

  • Alternaria blight of mustard caused by Alternaria brassicae (Berk.) Sacc., is one of the major diseases of Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czern & Coss.]. Among the eight tested media for growth of A. brassicae, Mustard leaf extract was recorded as most suitable for growth and sporulation in all the 20 isolates of A. brassicae. This was followed by Potato dextrose agar and Cabbage leaf extract medium. The maximum mycelial growth of 88.3 mm was recorded in Mustard leaf extract after 12 days of inoculation.   • The present study was conducted in Bengaluru urban district of Karnataka during 2018-19 to assess the consumer preference and their satisfaction about organic products. It was observed that 100 per cent of consumers preferred organic vegetables followed by organic fruits (80.00%), organic eggs (71.66%), millets (66.66%), Pulses (43.33%) and cereals and their bi products (30.00%). With respect to overall preference for organic products by the consumers, it was found that 53.33 per cent of consumers belong to medium category followed by high (30.00%) and low (16.66%) category.

  • The present study was conducted in Awagarh block of Etah district of Uttar Pradesh to find out the extent of adoption of organic farming practices by farmers in crop production. Study revealed that majority of the farmers 60.00 per cent found to overall medium adoption group followed by low adoption group 22.00 per cent and high adoption of organic farming practices 18.00 per cent respectively.   • The present study was conducted to know the selective breeding, feeding and management practices followed by dairy farmers in Punjab. A total of 150 farmers were selected randomly and divided into three categories, small (n=48), medium (n=74) and large (n=28).   • An investigation was carried out to study the effect of strain and egg weight on chick’s weight in large, medium and small sized eggs of chicken strains. The study was conducted at poultry farm, SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner. A total of 297 eggs were collected and grouped into three egg size categories i.e. Small (38-44 g), medium (45-52 g) and large (53-59 g). For Kuroiler breed of chicken, the chick weight was found significantly higher in medium class (38.5 g) followed by small (34.3 g) and large (38.1g) egg classes.
