Dogs are one of the important asymptomatic carriers of antimicrobial resistant and potentially pathogenic strains of Salmonella. They can harbor large bacterial load in the intestines and mesenteric lymph nodes which can be shed in their feces with the possibility of transmission to humans.

There are two lymphatic flows in lower rectal cancer; one along the inferior mesenteric artery and another towards the internal iliac artery. The benefit of dissection of lateral pelvic (LP) lymph nodes (LPLN) remains controversial.

The present study was aimed for studying gross and histopathological changes in various organs of STZ-NAD induced Type –II diabetic rat model. In diabetic group rats, the gross changes included congestion in liver, kidneys, heart and brain, atrophic changes in liver, heart, pancreas, spleen, thymus, testes and epididymes, edematous mesenteric lymph nodes and ulcerations in gastrointestinal tract in comparison to control group.

In obesity, increased dietary lipids are taken up and transported by the lymphatic systems into the circulatory system. Increased fat accumulation results in impairments in the lymph fluid and lymph node (LN) atrophy. LNs filter the lymph fluid for foreign antigens to induce and control immune responses, and the alteration of this function during obesity remains underexplored. Here, the changes within the microarchitecture of mesenteric LNs (mLNs) during high levels of lipid transport were investigated, and the role of stromal cells in mice fed a high-fat diet for 10 weeks was assessed.

Gut associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) extracts of prenatal goat were subjected to 12.5% SDS-PAGE. The study revealed that there was less variation among different age groups of prenatal goat in same GALT extract. Ileal and thymic extract of 99 and 112 days old prenatal goat fractioned into 12 protein whereas in 50 days old foetal goat one protein in ileal and two protein in thymic extract were missing. In splenic extracts of 112 days old foetus three protein bands were missing when compared to 50 and 99 days old goat foeti.

Major burn is associated with decreased gut barrier function and increased bacterial translocation (BT). This study is to investigate whether commensal microflora induce host defense and decrease BT in burn mice. Methods: First, we treated Wild type (WT) mice with antibiotics in drinking water for 4 weeks to deplete gut commensal microflora. At week 3, drinking water was supplemented with lipopolysaccharide (LPS); a ligand for TLR4, to trigger TLRs in gut.

Lymphomas Lymphoma in the small bowel may be primary or secondary. A diagnosis of a primary intestinal lymphoma requires histologic confirmation in a clinical setting in which palpable adenopathy and hepatosplenomegaly are absent and no evidence of lymphoma is seen on chest radiograph, CT scan, or peripheral blood smear or on bone marrow aspiration and biopsy. Symptoms referable to the small bowel are present, usually accompanied by an anatomically discernible lesion.
