  • Outdoor regional concentrations of airborne fungal spores and fungal fragments were measured using the 7-day Lanzoni sampler. The daily and intradiurnal fluctuations recorded during the monitored period have been studied. The multiple regression analysis was performed in order to determine how much of the total variance in these concentrations could be explained by meteorological parameters. Daytime periodicity (statistically significant) was established only in a few cases. As the relative importance of the weather factors varied, they could not be ranked according to their effect.

  • During the investigation sucking pest viz; white fly and jassid were appeared in 33 standard meteorological week and maximum population of whitefly (0.60 per plant) and jassid (0.40 per plant) was recorded in 37th SMW. Correlation with sucking pest (whitefly and jassid) population and meteorological parameters was found positive non significant association with evening relative humidity and minimum temperature but negative correlation with maximum temperature, morning relative humidity and rainfall.

  • Weather is considered crucial for agriculture as it determines the productivity of the crops and Weather parameters influence on agricultural operations and farm production. Un expected weather conditions are the one of the reason for crop losses in India. These losses can be minimized by making modification in field operation by using weather based agro advisories service. District Agro meteorological Unit under the project of Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa provides weather based agro agro advisories for block level in the respective district.

  • In rainfed agriculture, rainfall has a crucial role to play for suitable crop planning. One hundred nineteen years (1901-2019) annual rainfall data has been analysed to find out yearly meteorological drought occurrence at Damoh district shows that maximum rain 1874.6 mm is in1990 and minimum rainfall is 614 mm in 1993. Annual average rainfall is 1196 mm.

  • Agricultural planning relying on evapotranspiration suffers due to inaccuracy in its estimation. The non-availability of meteorological parameters required for accurate estimation of reference evapotranspiration (ETo) resulted in the development of different methods of ETo estimation. The present study compares various universally accepted methods of ETo estimation by considering the Penman Monteith (FAO 56 PENMEN-MONTEITH) as a standard method.

  • The process of evaporation is influenced by a number of factors, the most common and important meteorological parameters affecting evaporation are solar radiation, temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and atmospheric pressure. There are number of models for the estimation of evaporation developed by investigators in different fields of study. The interrelated factors are incorporated into various formulae for estimating evaporation. Due to complex interactions between the components of the land-plantatmospheric systems the reliable estimation of evaporation are extremely difficult.

  • The incidence of Alternaria blight caused by Alternaria porri largely depends on meteorological parameters, location, cultivars susceptibility and cultural practices. Change of climate affects the disease incidence. Corelation of meteorological parameters on the natural occurrence of Alternaria blight was studied from 21/11/2012 to 19/03/2013 in sixteen meteorological weeks under field condition at experimental plot, Dept. of plant pathology, OUAT, Bhubaneswar. • Major threat to highly productive cotton belt of North India is Cotton Leaf Curl Disease exclusively transmitted by whitefly (Bemisia tabaci). The present investigation was carried out at Research farm of department of Agricultural Meteorology, CCS HAU, Hisar Haryana, to evaluate progression of CLCuD and whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) in relation to weather parameters. Three Bt -cotton hybrids were sown at three different dates. Per cent CLCuD incidence increases continuously from appearance to picking.
