Ebook "In silico modeling and experimental validation for improving methanogenesis from CO2 via M. maripaludis" explores the ability of M. maripaludis to capture and convert CO2 to methane in the presence of free nitrogen, and offers a consolidated review of the metabolic processes and applications of M. maripaludis. Further, it develops, validates and analyzes the first genome-scale metabolic model (iMM518) of M. maripaludis. Readers will discover, for the first time, the impact of nitrogen fixation on methane production.

Ebook "Clean hydrogen production methods" covers novel techniques for clean hydrogen production which primarily involve sodium hydroxide as an essential ingredient to the existing major hydrogen production technologies. Interestingly, sodium hydroxide plays different roles and can act as a catalyst, reactant, promoter or even a precursor. The inclusion of sodium hydroxide makes these processes both kinetically and thermodynamically favorable.

Effective and economical carbon dioxide-methane separation (CO2/CH4) is highly desirable in several industries such as sweetening natural gases and renewable natural gas (RNG) from biogas and landfills. Among the different separation technologies, membrane separation has been shown to have lower cost of production and lower CH4 losses.

Lactating dairy cows are the greatest livestock contributor of methane, a major global greenhouse gas (GHG). However, good feeding management with adequate mineral intake can offers an effective approach to maintaining high levels of milk production and the health of dairy cows over the entire course of lactation, while also helping to reduce methane emission.

Good quality protein as an on-farm feed resource has been in great demand to support the productivity of ruminants. A digestion trial using beef cattle crossbreds was conducted to assess the four dietary treatments of Flemingia macrophylla silage (FMS) supplementation at 0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 kg dry matter (DM)/day in a 4 × 4 Latin square design.

Drought is a major threat to wheat production worldwide and development of drought-tolerant wheat genotypes may improve the production of this cereal crop in drought affected regions. In the present study, 24 mutant lines were developed by treating a wheat variety ‘NN-Gandum-1(NN-1) with ethyl methane sulfonate (EMS). The M5 , M6 , and M7 generations were evaluated for quantitative traits under well irrigated and rainfed conditions. Furthermore, best performing mutants of M6 and M7 generations were examined for biochemical parameters.

In this research, a series of La0.7Sr0.3Co1−yFeyO3−δ (y = 0.0–0.4) was successfully synthesized by a solidstate reaction method and syngas production studies were performed using gas chromatography. Thermogravimetric analysis characterized the concentration of Fe3+, which gave a low H2/CO ratio over La0.7Sr0.3Co1−yFeyO3−δ without the presence of molecular oxygen. All samples possessed a purely rhombohedral structure. The incorporation of more Fe increased the lattice parameter and changed XRD peaks of the La1−xSrxCo0.8Fe0.2O3 from sharp and single to double.

In this study, biogenic copper and zinc oxide nanoparticles (G-ZnONPs and G-CuONPs) were synthesized by the green synthesis method using Malva parviflora L. (Millow) leaf extract and the obtained nanoparticles were characterized in detail with UVVis, FTIR, SEM, XRD. The antibacterial properties of the synthesized nanoparticles on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria were investigated and it was found that the nanoparticles had high antimicrobial activity in the results of the experiments.

The main findings of the study were that: (1) Goats fed Bauhinia acuminata responded with improved diet digestibility, N retention and growth rate when the Bauhinia acuminata was supplemented with water spinach; (2) However an important negative effect was that the improvement in diet digestibility by supplementation with water spinach led to increases in methane production per unit diet DM digested; (3) Supplementing Bauhinia acuminata foliage with leaves from a bitter variety of cassava reduced the in vitro production of methane when compared with supplementation by leaves from a sweet va...
