Micromorphological characteristics of 13 Trifolium species, which are grown in the province of Bolu, were examined using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The morphological characteristics determined from the study were subjected to morphometric analyses and their variation spectrums were defined. Tricolporate pollen grains showed two pollen shapes, prolate and subprolate, according to equatorial view. The smallest size of polar axis length (18.00 μm) was found in T. micranthum Viv. from section Chronosemium Ser.; the largest (88.95 μm) was found in T. hirtum All.

Achene micromorphological evidence belonging to 32 species of Potentilla from Iran were studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Multivariate analysis was used to estimate the potential contribution of the quantitative and qualitative traits to the species relationships. Based on the present results, the achene micromorphological traits exhibited considerable variations.

Present investigation deals with the pharmacognostic studies of some medicinally important species of Curcuma L. namely Curcuma amada Roxb., Curcuma aromatica Salisb., Curcuma caesia Roxb., Curcuma longa L. and Curcuma zedoaria (Christm.) Roscoe. Distinct variation was observed during foliar epidermal micromorphology study. Epidermal cell shape was found distinctly variable though cell wall outline was found to be straight in all the selected species. Leaves of the investigated taxa were found to be amphistomatic and the stomata are of tetracytic type.

The use of medaka fish as a candidate animal model has been started which has similarities with the Zebra fish that was developed as an animal model. Sulawesi medaka fish (Oryzias celebensis) is a type of medaka fish that are endemic in the region of South Sulawesi. This research aims to observe the histology of anterior gut of Sulawesi medaka fish. Histological study on the anterior gut of Sulawesi medaka fish using buccal cavity and oesophagus organs. Histological observation showed that the mouth and buccal cavity are shared by the respiratory and digestive systems.

Micromorphological observations from 3 different published works have been studied to aid understanding of aggregation and of colloids, both unique to soils. Saprolites in Hong Kong included ‘veins’ of different thicknesses and colours. Optical mineralogy identified them as infill from the neogenesis of clays in rock fractures.

A Turkish endemic, Erodium hendrikii Alpınar, was firstly described from NE Anatolia in 1994 based on insufficient specimens. In the present study, the description of this poorly known taxon was emended by adding several macro- and micromorphological traits of its leaf and fruit observed under LM and SEM.

Leaf indumentum and nutlet surface micromorphology of 13 taxa belonging to the Teucrium sect. Teucrium was studied with a scanning electron microscope. We observed 5 trichome types on the nutlets and 8 trichome types on the leaves. Branched trichomes were not found on the nutlets.
